  1. How about only reworking the sea tile with ice in order to make the ice patches smaller and more sporadic? I mean, let's take said sea tile and add more water to it plus alpha channels, rather than ice. This way we could avoid making transition tiles. It won't look perfect, but better.
  2. It seems there are no available templates for this fast bird. Wrench once released a SF2 updated version, but it contained a white (and I guess fictional) texture. I think it would be great to have a black texture like its recon counterpart, the SR-71. It surely would be an alternative to those who don't have access to A-Team stuff. I'd really like to try paint the plane and update it a bit (wrong camera views allow to see the 'interior' of the fuselage), but I need templates, if anyone is willing to create them (I'm not good with that kind of stuff).
  3. It's a TOD issue, tree targa files must be reworked.
  4. Terrorist assault underway in Munich, germany

We all know that the problem is in the Sunni community. But our governments support countries such as Saudi Arabia, so what do you expect? You got the point. No way he could stay in Germany, but he did apparently. Something is wrong with security all over Europe. France is the first example.
  5. Terrorist assault underway in Munich, germany

It has been confirmed, the Ansbach bomber pledged allegiance to ISIS, damned sucker. Now even Germany is in the list of potential targets for ISIS. Europe is all but safe as of now.
  6. Terrorist assault underway in Munich, germany

I understand your rage. But keep in mind that he was not a recent Syrian refugee. From what I read he's been in Germany for more than two years, and his asylum request was denied. Sure, when asylum is denied, I thought you have to leave the country you are in. Security screw up 101. You are right, the world can't keep going this way. I am afraid we are too late. Everything is in motion, tensions between superpowers are still very high (and they say the Cold War ended). We are paying for the sins of our fathers. We created arbitrary borders all over Africa and the Middle East, we created dictatorships in such areas when they were useful, and got rid of them when someone suddenly decided it was a loose end (for instance, overthrowing Saddam in Iraq). We made friends with the real enemy (the rich countries/families that finance ISIS and other terrorist/mercenary armies), now we pay for that choice.
  7. Terrorist assault underway in Munich, germany

When I wrote my previous post, reports were sketchy, and I clearly said that it was to be confirmed. Of course, now just because his name is Ali, he is now a ISIS terrorist in your mind. But, why do I bother writing such things to you? Your comments are those of a man without the sense God gave a chicken, let me tell ya! Apart from that, I am relieved to hear that your brother and your brother's GF are safe and sound. That loser of a killer was coward enough to shoot himself after his crazy shooting spree.
  8. Terrorist assault underway in Munich, germany

That is what you say. Police neither confirms nor denies it has to do with the usual ISIS terrorists/lone wolves. There is proof instead that the bastards could be neo-nazis instead. So avoid that load of crap when everything is yet to be confirmed.
  9. Resuming my terrain modding, I decided to to have a look at the various terrains in my mod folder and decided to tweak things here and there. I wanted to see if I could use hi-res First Eagles tilesets in SF terrains. Tiles are no problem obviously, but TODs are, since they do not scale properly, they are like 1:8 or more of what they should be. I think this might have to do with the fact that First Eagles' TFD resolution is 500, while in SF it is 2000. I discovered this old thread (http://combatace.com/topic/21873-resizing-terrains-thread/), it explains how stock SF terrains can be resized to RL scale thanks to Hex editing and doubling of values in the .inis. But TOD files are always a problem, they do not scale. I am wondering if the same idea (Hex editing) could be applied to TODs as well.
  10. Thanks for replying, Stary. Indeed you're right, I was out of my mind, density in FE2 TODs is way too high for SF2 to handle. I have seen some interesting screenshots you made and posted in the SF2 screenshots thread a while ago. Your terrain experiments always intrigue me. You managed to obtain a sort of Jane's USAF look in regards to the terrains (with an hi-res patch, Jane's USAF terrains do look so much better than the ones in stock SF2). But I think that TODs would be a problem, since they are tile-based.
  11. Pity we don't have a proper and legal Su-37. Thanks for the skinpack anyway. Anything that is AC related makes me excited. Can't wait for AC7. BTW, just for the readers' interest, Yellow 13 is actually based on WW2 German ace Hans-Joachim Marseille. Ace Combat might tell fictional stories in a fictional world, but there are many connections to our real world history, myths and legends.
  12. Wow, thanks for this updated package, Viper! I must apologise because by mistake I rated the file with 4-stars instead of 5. Anyway, I hope I'll manage to find some free time in the coming month to try it and play SF2 again. I must resume modding as well, for the ODS - Iran/Iraq war terrain.
  13. another attack in France....

I'd say most terrorists claim to be/are muslim, but otherwise there have been other terror attacks with different backgrounds (people seem to forget what happened in Norway years ago, where many died in the hands of a single psycho). Moreover, we (correctly) define these acts as terror attacks, but what about the shootings that usually happen in the US of A? If the suspect is not a muslim, then it is not a terrorist attack, according to the news. Something is very wrong; I thought that anything that involves innocent deaths, mayhem and destruction has to be defined a terror attack, but it doesn't seem to be the case it the bastards are from a certain background. I'd avoid jokes if I were you, many have died in this cruel terror attack, and many children are fighting for their lives, and hell knows if their parents are still alive or injured or worse. My condolences to the victims' families.
  14. Bad Angel

    Amazing story, thanks for posting!
  15. Nope, you can see how they are placed on each tile, though, as shown in the screenshot above. It's very useful already.
  16. It works, Typhoid. Try using the latest version of 7-Zip or WinRAR.
  17. Independence Day

After the match result, this BBC Sport article is even more funny: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36629201
  18. Independence Day

    Iceland 2 - England 1, LOL!
  19. Yep, that is what happens to me too. But now RL kicked in and I can't resume work on my Iran/Iraq terrain. I really want to release it this year, but at the same time I don't want to rush it.
  20. Independence Day

I said "some people". I know there have been others like you who have voted with more precise ideals in mind.
  21. Independence Day

I did, and of course I know it has nothing to do with the EU membership. I was just wondering why the UK is not leaving NATO too; a British general, don't remember his name, once mentioned that he would like to see a NATO-free Great Britain. That's what I don't understand, some people voted "leave" because they want to make Great Britain great again (does it ring any bells? Trump anyone?). It feels like some political parties want to return to 1900 or worse, when we "civilised" Europeans believed to be the superior race that had the right to tear apart Africa, the Americas and the Middle East, for natural resources and other "duties". Today's world is different, it's globalized. Some think it's good, some think it's not, but this is the situation. I can't even think of my country alone as a competitor to giants like China, India, Russia, and many others. Maybe the UK will make it, maybe not. It's their choice. I am only wishing that their choice won't have tragic consequences for other European countries.
  22. Independence Day

Just to reassure you, FRPignon, the M5S is not so populist. I can tell you 'cause I am Italian, and there is a worse populist party, thank God not that big yet. At least in Italy, things are not looking so bad in this regard, and its rather strange I might add, considering my country's past.
  23. Thanks as always for keeping your packages up to date, viper63a. If only I had more free time to restart modding and playing SF2...
  24. Independence Day

Me too, it's a sick world the one we all live in. Back to the topic, while I am disappointed a little for the outcome of this referendum, we must accept its results. Only the future can tell what will happen. I like seeing some jokes about the British now, but then I realise that most likely worse things may happen elsewhere. It's already scary that a guy like Trump made it this far, so as the Brits disappointed me (and not that much, the "leave" won by a narrow margin), I am scared shitless that there is an increase of aggressive nationalism in the US of A and other parts of Europe, or what's left of it. I admit that representative democracy it's failing, due to the low quality politicians we have elected over the years. Then, when you give full, direct democracy to the people (who are obviously much more ignorant in matters of policies, otherwise we all would be politicians), the risk of seeing a new Mussolini or Hitler is not that far. I am generally speaking, I am not referring to the UK. Let's hope that your plan works, because there is no certainty in politics, and having voted for A, and then receiving B or even C as a result, would be a failure. As I said before the vote, I wish the UK the best, I don't care if "leave" won instead of "remain". I just hope that your votes are going to give you the results you expect over the years.
