Russian Fighter ops in Syria
MigBuster replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Military and General Aviation
Gets up close to the Su-25s and those FAB gravity bombs........wonder if they are Su-25SM3. You would expect a high level of self defence capability so Su-30/ advanced SAMs & plenty of ground troop all likely. -
DCS World 2: Red Flag review
MigBuster posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
When Matt Wagner, producer for Eagle Dynamics, asked me if I’d be interested in doing some play testing for some of the forthcoming DCS World content, I excitedly proclaimed my enthusiasm before really stopping to think about it. In the back of my brain however, my Spidey sense was tingling. It wasn’t until later, sitting in front of my monitor, reading the briefing that I remembered. Valhalla! How could I forget?! Matt Wagner and Hornit’s signature campaign for Jane’s F/A-18. It was a project squarely in line with Matt’s capabilities as one of the designers of Jane’s F/A-18. With unprecedented realism and difficulty – Valhalla kicked my ass. I’m pretty sure I can still feel the knots in my shoulders from the tension of trying to dodge Russian SAMs and fighters, tanking, and trapping aboard the carrier (at night). *Shudder* So, a realistic DCS World Red Flag campaign huh? I should have just agreed to be blindfolded and kicked in the nuts (repeatedly). The Red Flag campaign will come in two flavors with both A-10C and F-15C mission sets.Wags collaborated with renowned author Steve Davies (yes –that Steve Davies!) to add authenticity to the DCS Red Flag experience. Steve crafted the briefings and additional assistance was garnered from an F-15 pilot with actual Red Flag experience............. http://www.mudspike.com/dcs-world-2-a-10c-red-flag-campaign/ -

Radar keys are the same so you may need to check your settings http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2343 http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_061a.html Yeah dont turn with MiG-17s.......basic BFM really Your radar wont look down in the early versions and the missiles are generally useless.........so fairly realistic if you dont know anything about it........although easier to employ them in this, especially AIM-4Ds!! If you fly low and straight...prepare to get shot down a lot......attacking guns head on also very risky but can be done. -
FINAL GOODBYE FOR US NAVY BUCKEYE After 56 years of service, it’s goodbye to the North American Rockwell T-2 Buckeye in US Navy service on Friday 25 September. The jet will undertake its final flight from Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md. The Buckeye was retired from training student pilots in 2008 already, being replaced by the Boeing T-45 Goshawk. A small number remained in service at Patuxent River as chase aircraft for aircraft and weapons testing. Two C-38 Courier business jets replace these jets. The Buckeye first flew in 1958, with other customer being Greece and Venezuela. A total of 273 were built in the end. http://airheadsfly.com/2015/09/25/final-goodbye-for-us-navy-buckeye/

France has executed its first air strike against positions of the so-called Islamic State forces (ISIS / ISIL / Daech) in Syria, French president Francois Hollande announced on the morning of Sunday 27 September 2015. Five Dassault Rafale jet were involved, plus one C-135 tanker and one Atlantique 2 intelligence aircaft. The air strike was done after French aircraft had made several reconnaissance flight of Syria during the past week. Since 2014 French air force and navy aircraft have been involved in operations against ISIS, but until September focused on Iraq only. Initially the French contingency only operated from the United Arab Emirates, Al Dhafra Airbase, since September 2014. When the contribution of Mirage 2000Ds was announced in Mid-November, they were positioned on an airbase in Jordan. The French name for the entire contribution to Operation Inherent Resolve is opration Chammal. http://airheadsfly.com/2015/09/27/first-french-air-strike-targets-syria/

I was a fan at the time...........had all their 90s albums & singles................. Live Forever or Slide Away were probably my faves from back then. Was a bigger fan of the Stone Roses who really screwed up commercially so Oasis seemed to step into their shoes......... Remember that Blur changed from 60s pop and went a bit grungy from about 1998.

Copy and backup your current mod folders to be sure. Like with a patch the game will write over the main ini files in the stock aircraft and ground unit folders for example. http://combatace.com/topic/55746-patching-made-easy-part-deux/ http://combatace.com/topic/82324-keeping-sf2-games-separate-when-you-have-merged-them-all/ -

No one is squeaky clean but you most definitely should be not taking press articles at face value Here is the actual pub relations doc F-35-Public-Affairs-Guidance.pdf The problem they have is that 99% of people don't have the first clue of what aerial combat actually involves..........thus what the USAF say seems totally unbelievable and alien. Yet a lot of amateur bloggers with no understanding of what they are writing can come across as "experts!!"
