To all the "Rivet counting" "Flight Model bashing" "never been in a military aircraft" wanna be's out there.......... Your gonna run out some really great modders!!!!! All the piddly little bulls**t about "this isn't right" or the ever popular "it dosen't feel like it should" is getting ridiculous! It's a great open flight sim with a multitude of talented people who are , quite frankly, tired of the crap! You read a book or an article on the web and BINGO your an expert.... WTF? I've been around and/or worked on aircraft over half my life and I still wouldn't dream of bashing someone else's hard work. Especially if I can't do a better job. Same thing goes for the "gimme, gimme's" out there. You want it???? Get the program's needed , learn the art and make the dam thing yourself!!!!!!!!! [RANT OFF]

Dude, read the knowledge base and learn how to do these things yourself. Your have alot more fun with the game. The whole "give me" and "I need help with this now!" stuff is wearing my moderator skin thin.

I don't know anything about gimp. Use layered templates is the best advice I can give you. Check out the tutorials located here and at simmershq. Decals don't go on the skin , are you "painting" on the markings or using decals? Decals go in a seperate folder and show up on the skin using the decal.ini.

In the decal.ini is the DecalLevel=2 ???? That has to be set for them to show in any order. You also need 16 decals.... 0-15. I've attached the decal tutorial to help. EDIT: Wrench beat me to it while I was posting Decal_Tutorial.doc

I'm going to revisit the F/A-18 Israeli skin I did way back. As far as an F-16XL SEA skin thats's a "what if" I could look at also. But I have to get off COD4, and thats not happening for at least a week more!

I started with WoV in 05.... hadn't flown sims in along time... Jane's F18 was the last major sim i had. Liked what I saw here and decided to try (try being key word here) to do a skin after seeing all the goodies available. Stepped on the toes of one USAFMTL with my first attempt (sabre) reamed a new one and started a friendship from there. This community is a ocean of talented individuals who have helped me more than i can say.
