Helicopter Tail Rotors
RUSTYMORLEY posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I recently downloaded a couple of the Helicopters from the SF 1 downloads section. I am well pleased with most of them and they indeed are a credit to the makers. Following installation of the helicopters I noticed a slight issue with the Tail Rotors. Whilst the Main Rotor appears to be moving relatively fast when the Helicopter is moving at speed, the Tail Rotor appears to be idling at a low speed. Is there any way to alter this problem and get the Tail Rotor moving at a higher speed or consistent with Main Rotor speed. I am not an expert, but I assume that the appearance of both the Main Rotor and the Tail Rotor rotating at speed is generated by TGA files. If I am wrong please correct me, and if you can offer advice to fix the problem I would be very grateful. It may infact be a glitch with my computer or Graphics Card failing to display the movement of the Tail Rotor correctly ! - don't know as yet. Thank - you in advance for any help or assistance you can offer. Further Information Am using SF1 only. Game is Wings over Europe Patched to October 2008 Alouette V1 - issue with Tail Rotor only Bo 105 - issue with Tail Rotor only Graphics card is Radeon RX 580 Series All other Helicopter installations display the Tail Rotor movement correctly -

IT IS A CRYING SHAME. Some good helicopters are relatively unusable because of minor issues like this. I wish I knew how to fix them myself then I would have ago at them, but alas I have never been able to master anything like that. Never mind, just have to abandon them....!!!!! Just a final word to say thanks for your replies guys, I really appreciate any help and advice given by skilled modders and members alike here at Combat Ace. -

Okay thanks for that Crawford. I think I will have to abandon them. Thanks for the reply anyway, much appreciated. -
God.........I really hate to see animals being mistreated or abandoned. !!! The people that do this kind of animal rescue are total absolutely frigging superb people, and I am glad that they care enough to help animals in distress. Damn fine looking blonde girlie too.

Explosion effect
RUSTYMORLEY replied to GKABS's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I am using SF1 only. I have fiddled about with the ini files for explosion effects and I am pretty sure nothing ever changed. It probably is hard coded. -

I have recently downloaded and installed several MIG 25 FOXBAT models from the Combat Ace site. Whilst I am generally well pleased with the models, all of them exhibit a line of shadow which appears to be protruding from the aircraft and then striking the ground where the actual shadow of the aircraft is. Is it possible to rectify this issue without turning off the shadow. Any help or advice would be most welcome. -

Has anyone noticed that all or most of the pictures which have been drawn by individuals who have encountered aliens or who have been abducted like Betty and Barney Hill in the United States - show the aliens as bipedal, humanoid in overall appearance with all of the anatomical features like head, nose eyes mouth hands and feet in the same place, with all the major organs contained in a body cavity very much like our own, but with slight variations in overall size and colour of the skin. !!! There is no way that is a coincidence - it has to be part of some kind of cosmic divine plan. It's like all of the races in the universe have been created using the same basic humanoid template as a guide.

My god they are getting into everything now. We should never have let them have the vote.!!!!! -
I was inspired by the first movie especially with those heavier Tomcats going up against the much more nimble and manouverable little A4 Skyhawks in the training sessions at Miramar. I think it will be hard to beat the original movie but I am always ready to watch something new. I would have preferred a sequel to the original movie to be set within the same time frame or perhaps a few years later but we have got to move with the times I suppose. I will certainly watch it when it arrives.

I am suprised that they left it there to rot away. Surely it could be fixed up and placed in an aviation museum somewhere.

Graphics are a bit dated. I take it this is an older game.

It is a testament to its usefulness and power that the B-52 has managed to last so long. The B-52 is a truly awesome aircraft which can travel enormous distances and deliver a massive blow against an enemy position more or less in any part of the world. Hell it's even got a rock band named after it.

To be honest, to some ordinary guy in the street, it looks like a F-16 with bits added on. !!!! Well okay it is an advance on a F-16.

Not sure what to make of this. The ship seems to be neither entirely sail or steam and yet it was a front-line warship.???????

IL-2 1946 Patches
RUSTYMORLEY posted a topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
According to Mission for Today website the next Patch 4.14 might not be too far away. Can't wait for the new content. -
What about IL-2 1946 does this run on Windows 10 ???? I may need to move to Windows 10 in the next year or so when I decide to upgrade my rig with new hardware, and I am thinking it might be a good thing to do it all in one go. Heard so many different stories about IL-2 1946 not working on Windows 10, yet some say it runs okay. Can anybody clarify this issue. !!!

Damn good video and stunning graphics. I hope the movie gets dubbed into English and is released over here. I will keep my eye out for this one. !!!
