Is it using the same pylon as the others? And is the dimension data the same as the other Hellfires? The AH-1 isn't supposed to carry the AGM-114L anyway, that one is just for the Longbow Apache.

If I remember correctly, one of the few loadouts that a Tomcat couldn't land with was a full load of 6 AIM-54s, which was one reason it was very rarely ever carried.

I keep hearing about Sundowner's higher-res skins, where do I get them? I'm definately going to be flying these, looking great!

I know I am really looking forward to this. I love the USAF Phantoms after Vietnam, up to and including Desert Storm. These look supurb. *makes mental note to read The Warbirds again* I wonder if it would be possible for you to release the base schemes seperately without the squadron markings. It would be very nice to have good higher-res Phantom base schemes to use, plus the DS grey and Egypt 1.

I loved the Tomcat growing up, always wanted to fly her. In fact, if it wasn't for my eyes not being up to par, I'd have signed up to try to be a naval aviator. In a kind of a tribute to the Turkey as she retired, I drew up a design, incorporating parts and stylings from the VF-0 and even the Su-30MK. I posted this last month in my albumn here, thought you guys in this thread might like it. Sorry to double post, but the AAM-3 is now in game. The LOD is looking good (Thanks Fastcargo!), all I need to do, other then texture it, is to modify the size of the missile (INI-wise) and rotate it 45 degrees in the modeling program. First kill was a MiG-25P at 5.6 kms, by the way.

Modeling's just about finished on the AAM-3. I'm stuck right now trying to figure out how to send an attachment with PMs to someone who is converting it into LOD for me to test in game. After I make sure everything is fine in game, I will texture it and convert it once more. INI work is already completed.

I tried the extruding. How does this look? I finally got all four fins installed and visible.

I tried that method, of making it a really thin box, but the problem was getting more vertices to use to shape it around the side view of the fin.

Here's an early WiP of the Mitsubishi AAM-3 IRM for the JASDF. I have the body and nose done fine, the problem right now is getting the fins down. I'm concentrating on the forward ones right now. They are a little off on size, which I will fix. The question is, what would be the best way to do them in Gmax. They are currently done with the line shape tool, which is fine except that they only show up on one side. (All four fins are actually on, but you can only see two) As I continue this one and other WiPs, I'll post them in this thread as well.

I liked the armed version in the Dale Brown books. It was a retractable 25mm chain gun and an eight-round round A2A Stinger pod, both retractable into extended side sponsoons.

My copy of the 2007-2008 US Army Weapons Systems book has a chart of all the modern Hellfire variants. I could scan and send it to you by PM if you'd like. Nice job, much more detailed than the existing rack. This would look good carrying the JCMs I'm working on as well.

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but since I'm working on the AAM-3/4/5, I was wondering if you could find more info on that manual and any pictures you have would be very helpful.

Here's my current WiP list: Bombs GBU-39/40 - EOGB - FMS Missiles AGM-169 Joint Common Missile (JCM) - LGB - FI- INI work completed, no model yet. Generic pylons modded Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS)-LGR-FMSI-INI work completed, no model yet. Rocket podded and railed versions completed. Mitsubishi AAM-3 Type 90 IRM-FMSI-In planning stage Mitsubishi AAM-4 Type 99 AHM-FMSI-In planning stage Pictures on the JCM and APKWS tests forthcoming. And, by the way, the APKWS is fun to play with, laser-guided Hydra rocket pods are a great way to decimate vehicle convoys.

It's the name they disguised the film cans for Doctor Who during early production. They decided later to use the name for the spin-off show.
