  1. I think I vaguely recall this. Was it not about the well known photo showing Jasta 11 aircraft all lined up on the field?
  2. I very much appreciate this thread UK_Widowmaker! I was kicking around goofing with high rez skins in my campaigns but I frankly do not see a huge difference - at least in the screen shots. What is your opinion of the comparisons in-game?
  3. For those of you flying high rez skins are you experiencing a frame rate loss? Especially in multi-plane dogfights?
  4. Olham, Did you look through the family photos? Is there a good picture of Ilse V. Richthofen - MvR/LvR sister? I have only seen one of her (the fairly well known family group photo) but I was wondering about a good close-up. Not to talk ill of the dead but that photo kind of makes her look like a Lothar but with long hair! For some reason hers is the only face in the photo that does not appear overly clear to me. After that historical opus called "Red Baron" from 2008 I have been curious what she looks like. JFM - do you have a photo of her?
  5. JFM and Olham: 1) What is the Roucourt controversy that you two are alluding too? JFM: 2) I did work last night and it is now early but are you saying she is a fraud?
  6. Ach...ok...ok! I see I am not going to get away with gassy so I will slaughter the spelling of "Luftstreitkräfte" for the next 10 years...or until P4 comes out. Hmmm....maybe L.S.K. - course only the reader of this thread will know WTH I am talking about!
  7. Sorry Olham - I'll never remember that spelling correctly and I am not not sure how to do umlat's here. Guess you'll have to keep being "gassy" (G.A.S.) in my posts.
  8. I will be eagerly awaiting.
  9. Well I am all about trying to be accurate. What would be the German abbreviation?
  10. I fly "Normal Skins" for the damage (of course) but the high rez shot is indeed beautiful. Wonder why the high rez skins can't show damage? Just as well - probably be too much for my older system anyway. Does look nice though! EDIT: I was so impressed with the screen shot it went over my head - new Alb FM?
  11. Got the above link from The Aerodrome. It is a series of photos posted by a (quite attractive!) female who states she is the great, great granddaughter of Lothar v. Richthofen. I know Lothar married after the war (by memory to a German actress named Fern Andora - I'm sure I spelled it wrong!) but I did not know the marriage produced children before he died in 1922. Anyway, you gotta click around a bit but a nice series of photos! Edit: Spelling
  12. I am hardly a graphics or hardware expert but your system is similar to mine and any cloud formation (and I am set at 5) has minimal impact for me. I do use Olhams recommended slider settings - from his old system. I have found that there are many, many, many settings in OFF, in your video card, and on your CP that can have effects - both positive and negative - I'd play around some more.
  13. Ah...very nice! Thanks RAF_Louvert.
  14. I was a little surprised that, with all the other details covered, that the day of the week is not mentioned anywhere in the campaigns screens. Or, if it is, I am blind. Anyway attached are 3 text files covering the main OFF war years. Tried to find something fancy but these small .txt files may end up being better anyway. Print them out and stick them on your OFF Command Key sheet clipboard if you like or whatever. If someone has an idea for putting them on one sheet or a different better format please do! 1916.txt 1917.txt 1918.txt
  15. Forgot to thank you for these. Using the JSGME Mod enabler I load these up when flying October through February. Thanks again!
  16. Would I be presumptuous to ask for a tentative release date? I'll even settle yearly quarters.
  17. I am kind of surprised at the number of Snipe fans here! I thought only a few ever really made it to the front, mostly for operational testing, and wasn't that when the war was almost over? I am going strictly by memory here...
  18. Unfortunately I don't get near enough "OFF time." With a full time job, part time commitments, house in the country, large property, etc, etc things tend to be busy especially in nicer weather. Thank goodness for winter! Mercifully the children have grown so that has freed up much time. With luck I get maybe 1 to 3 campaign missions a week but yes, I would play more if I could. The main problem, for me as a campaign player, is the difficulty of finding 60 minutes of uninterrupted time to play. I get 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there, hence my forum, skinning, attempts at modding time, but large blocks of time are tough. If OFF had a mid-flight "save game" feature I probably could crank out much more game time. A P4 possibility?
  19. Both sides for me. Two Sop Cam careers, one with 70 Sqd and the other with 8 RNAS. Se5 with 56 Sqd. N17 with 60 Sqd. BrF2b with 48 Sqd. Sop Tri with 10 RNAS. Alb DIII with Jasta 11. N28 with 94 USAS. I fly (hours wise) both side pretty equally but the number of plane types means I have more British careers. I mostly fly in 1917 so there is not alot of variety flying for the Germans hence the one career.
  20. Oh yes I knew that is what you meant, and I am certainly aware it, but I was careless! And I will take your women advice to heart!
  21. I actually use my real name in OFF which sounds fairly Germanic already. The "Duke" is for the World Wide Web. I may have some ex-girlfriends out there. A couple did swear revenge come to think of it! As for the poor Mercedes I was boring in from the six o'clock on the Sopwith so the engine was the logical impact point for the observers bullets. I still have my virtual life intact so I will accept that as a cheap lesson in proper tactics!
  22. That is one of my next projects - removing the windscreen from the N17 (Lewis). I figure the knowledge gained modding the TAC screen .dds will assist with that project.
  23. March 1917 with Jasta 11 flying out of Brayelles. Flieger Duke, hot with anticipation, takes off on a solo flight to check out his new paint job. While technically not a 10 victory kannone yet he spent a week in the hanger fine tuning the paint job for his Alb so what the heck... While flying in the gorgeous weather our indomitable pilot observes flak bursts over a nearby field. Swinging over to investigate he comes across 4 or 5 Sopwith 1 1/2's apparently going to bomb the field. Raised on a steady diet of hapless BE2c's our hero of the air is much too confident and much too careless and, charging into the enemy formation, promptly gets his engine shot up by a plucky observer. The poor Mercedes is making a hellish racket as the Duke cuts the power to avoid a fire and dives away. Corkscrewing down he now lands on the very aerodrome he was trying to protect! Did I hear laughing in that hanger over there? The consolation prize was that it was probably the best landing I ever made however the after action report listed my aircraft as destroyed! Ah well...in my mind I will just need a new engine and I will be back in the air. No combat screenshots I'm afraid - it all happened so quick I didn't even think about it.
