Yakovlev Yak-41M for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is simple mod of Gabilon's Yak-41 'Freestyle' to create a fictional Yak-41M in service with the Ukrainian Naval Aviation and the Ukrainian Air Force. Gabilon created his Yak-41 in 2007 (his first 3D model - Chapeau!) and Fubar512 improved the FM and those improvements are duly incorporated here along with a few modifications by me. Three new Ukrainian skins are included; 1. Ukrainian Naval Aviation in a blue splinter scheme for maritime operations. 2. Ukrainian Air Force in a 'Flygvapnet' splinter scheme for tactical operations. 3. Ukrainian Air Force in a modern (boring) grey scheme. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Yak-41M folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Yak-41M folder into your main Decals folder. 3. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop both the sound files into your main Sounds folder. 4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop all four weapons folder into your main Weapons folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to Gabilon for creating and uploading his Yak-41 back in 2007. Thanks to Fubar512 for his FM tweaks. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 03/02/19 Version 1 - 13/05/12

North American F-100D 'AMI' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-100D to place this classic cold war warrior into fictional service with the Aeronautica Militare Italiana with markings for; 22º Gruppo, 51º Stormo in NMF. 154º Gruppo, 6º Stormo in NMF. 18º Gruppo, 3º Stormo in grey/green camo (with sharkmouth). INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-100D_AMI folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-100D_AMI folder into your main Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to hgbn (Henrik) for uploading his superb F-100D templates to the community. 4. View File [Fictional] Lockheed F-104E Starfighter 'ANG' Lockheed F-104E for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-104G to create a fictional USAF F-104E with markings for; 112th TFS of the Ohio ANG in a 'Euro One' style scheme. 162nd TFS of the Ohio ANG in a 'Euro One' style scheme. 198th TFS of the Puerto Rico ANG in a 'T.O. 1-1-4' style scheme. It goes without saying that you must have the F-104G LOD's in your install. BACKSTORY Whilst, officially, USAF interest in the F-104 programme began to ebb (leading to only 77 F-104C's being built) they kept a watchful eye on Lockheed's progress into transforming the original hot-rod interceptor fighter into a multi-mission tactical fighter for export to selected 'free world' nations. As negotiations with Federal Germany reached a critical phase in 1958 concern was expressed by the Bonn government that Lockheed were attempting to sell an aircraft no longer wanted by it's home nation. Lockheed cleverly took these concerns back to Washington and claimed that lucrative export orders were at jeopardy leading to a token order for a new version of the Starfighter for the USAF. Designated F-104E this new version broadly represented a halfway house between the F-104C and the forthcoming F-104G. Only 60 F-104E's were planned to be produced but the success of the F-104C flown by Capt Charles E. Tofferi in the 1962 William Tell tactical weapons meet, against strong competition from F-100 and F-105 pilots, led to continued low-rate production followed by a larger batch of 240 F-104E's making an eventual total of 336. F-104E's were deployed to Vietnam and surviving aircraft were refurbished for ANG use with the type being finally retired in 1988 when the 112th TFS re-equipped with F-16A's. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104E folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104E folder into your main Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to Bobrock for uploading his superb F-104G templates to the community. BACKSTORY During the Spring of 1961 the incoming Secretary of Defence Robert S. McNamara left no stone unturned in his search for efficiencies in procurement and operational costs and his attention soon turned to the successful Douglas A4D 'Skyhawk' programme. Douglas had already transformed their 'bantam bomber' by replacing the Curtiss-Wright J65 engine with the Pratt & Whitney J52-P6A engine and the forthcoming A4D-5 (A-4E) version was chosen as the baseline for a minimum-change version for the USAF. Designated A-4D (after the introduction of the tri-service designation system) the USAF Skyhawks saw extensive service at home and abroad and, in particular, served with distinction in Vietnam where they replaced a variety of tactical aircraft. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the A-4D folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the A-4D folder into your main Decals folder. That's it! F-23E for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of Dels' excellent F-23A 'Black Widow' to give a fictional F-23E 'Karish' (Shark) of the Israeli Air Force with markings for; No.110 squadron - The Knights Of The North Squadron. No.119 Squadron - The Bat Squadron (with toned-down markings). BACKSTORY With the success of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom and F-15 Eagle in Heyl HaAvir service the Israeli's were hoping that the Northrop/McDonnell Douglas F-23A 'Black Widow' would win the USAF's ATF competition to continue their successful relationship with the McDonnell Douglas team at St. Louis but unfortunately Lockheed Martin's victory in the ATF competition looked like bringing an end to a long and enduring partnership. However in a brave move, in May 1991 the Northrop/McDonnell Douglas team secured permission from Congress to actively market the F-23 to (State Department) 'approved' nations and offered a single-seat multi-role version called the F-23E (Export) to Germany, Japan, Israel and the UK. With Germany looking for any excuse to get out of the Eurofighter consortium and facing high reunification costs they persuaded the UK to team up in a combined purchase of 200 F-23E's. In return, this led to the German and UK Governments persuading Northrop/McDonnell Douglas to make BAe and MBB prime sub-contractors for any further export sales. However, with only 200 F-23E's on order Northrop/McDonnell Douglas were not convinced that it was enough to start a viable programme but the breakthrough came in January 1994 when the USAF agreed to purchase 100 F-23A's for PACAF (the air component of United States Pacific Command) and this move finally saw Japan and Israel also join the programme with 100 F-23E's each. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-23E folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-23E folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Massive thanks to Dels for this superb add-on aircraft, it's one of the very best. This revised upload allows me to introduce the lovely Yak-23 pit by Stary. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Yak-23F folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Yak-23F folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the Pilot_Ilmavoimat folder into your Pilots folder. That's it! 12. View File [Fictional] Ilyushin IL-28 'Beagle' Fuerza Aérea Argentina Ilyushin IL-28 'Beagle' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire IL-28 to give a flyable (and fictional) IL-28 in service with the Fuerza Aérea Argentina with markings for; Grupo 1 de Bombardeo in the silver scheme as delivered. Grupo 2 de Bombardeo in the later 'sea grey' scheme selected for 'over-water' operations. I've put a patch.psd 'template' in there in case you'd like to switch things around and have both in silver or both in grey. COCKPIT I've used the A-4B pit as I think the cockpit framing looks quite suitable and the pit is nice and low-tech. The disadvantages are that there is no radar (not that the Beagle's radar was of much use) and that the A-4B pit is, of course, single-enginned. However, you can easily switch to another stock pit or go third-party. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the IL-28_FAA folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the IL-28_FAA folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_COAN folder into your Pilots folder. That's it! Dassault Mirage 5FM for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Dassault Mirage 5F to give a fictional export version for the Royal Moroccan Air Force (Force Aérienne Royale Marocaine) in a Desert camo scheme with markings for Escadre de Chasse "Tigre". BACKSTORY The Mirage 5 was developed from a request made by the Israeli Air Force in 1964 for a simpler 'clear weather' version of the Mirage 3E tailored mainly for the ground-attack role with avionics reduced and repositioned, more fuel for attack missions and two additional ventral stores pylons located towards the rear fuselage. In September 1966 Israel became the launch customer for this important new line of the Mirage family when they placed an order for 50 Mirage 5J's. However, rising tensions between Israel and their neighbouring Arab states during the early summer of 1967 allied to General de Gaulle's increasingly pro-Arab stance led to a French arms embargo to Israel announced on June 3rd, 1967 just two days before the Six-Day war despite Israel having paid for the aircraft in full. By this time, the prototype Mirage 5 had flown and production was in full swing with the now embargoed Mirage 5J's beginning to stockpile at Bordeaux-Mérignac. But following the Mirage's dazzling combat record in the hands of Israeli pilots during the Six-Day war the air forces of many nations knocked on Dassault's door and one such nation was Morocco (formerly a French protectorate) who wanted the Mirage 5J's to supplement their recently acquired but decidedly lukewarm Northrop F-5A's. General de Gaulle readily agreed to this sale and Dassault made some minor modifications to the 5J's to export them as Mirage 5FM's to the Royal Moroccan Air Force in late 1968 with initial deliveries going to Escadre de Chasse "Tigre" based at Meknes, Northern Morocco. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Mirage5FM folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Mirage5FM folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 07/05/2020 Version 1 - 18/09/2011

McDonnell Voodoo FAW.4 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of erikgen's superb McDonnell F-101B Voodoo to give a fictional Voodoo FAW.4 in the markings for the famous 'Treble One' Squadron of the Royal Air Force during the 1960's. This revised upload now adds a second skin (No.74 Squadron) and a nifty fixed in-flight refuelling probe. BACKSTORY Delays in the English Electric Lightning programme and the rather pedestrian performance of the Gloster Javelin encouraged the McDonnell Aircraft Company to offer various versions of their outstanding Voodoo aircraft to the RAF initially with the F.1 single-seater and FAW.2 two-seater for RAF Fighter Command and followed by the FR.3 single-seater reconnaisance aircraft for RAF Germany and the improved FAW.4 two-seater for Fighter Command. Entering service in 1961 the Voodoo FAW.4 served with three squadrons of RAF Fighter Command and supplemented the earlier FAW.2's in the air defence role. Normally armed with two De Havilland Skystorm radar-guided missiles and two Fairey Firestorm infra-red heat-seeking missiles the Voodoo FAW.4's were a quantum leap in performance over the Gloster Javelin and remained a popular type in RAF service right up until their retirement in 1981. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the VoodooFAW4 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the VoodooFAW4 folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the VoodooIFR folder into your pilots folder (this is the IFR probe so is optional). 4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the AIM-4K, Skystorm and VoodooFAW4_Tank folders to your Weapons folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to the legend that is erikgen for producing the Voodoo in all its variants and to Column5 for the FM. Special thanks also to yakarov79 for making the IFR probe for me. Thanks also to the creators of the Genie and Falcon missiles that I've tweaked and rebadged (just for a giggle). And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
