Olham 164 Posted November 6, 2014 Some people are really ingenious engineers - this feller from Wupperthal has built himself a motorbike with a radial engine! Not sure how practical it is, but it looks cool! http://www.1000ps.at/modellnews-2357113-der-rote-baron
Hauksbee 103 Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) I've seen a few variations on this idea. I can only find two right now. Edited March 2, 2015 by Hauksbee
Olham 164 Posted November 6, 2014 Craaa-zeee!!! I had always thought nothing is bigger than a Münch Mammut (which had a car engine). But in America everything is possible.

In America, especially California, the 'impossible' is just a starting point. Edited March 2, 2015 by Hauksbee
Olham 164 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) In America, especially California, the 'impossible' is just a starting point. Haha, yeah, that must be true, Hauksbee! Geeze, the next thing would be a motorbike with the tracks of a Sherman! Or with the jet engines of an F-16 fighter... Hauksbee 103 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Or with the jet engines of an F-16 fighter... It's not an F-16 engine, but his heart's in the right place... Edited March 2, 2015 by Hauksbee
Olham 164 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Holy Schnicky (as Lou would say) - in Germany it wouldn't be allowed! Our insurance companies are kind of almighty. Edited November 7, 2014 by Olham
Burning Beard 14 Posted November 11, 2014 There are some Smart Cars out there with tracks , if you want to see them Google is your friend, lol. Beard
HumanDrone 4 Posted November 23, 2014 I'll still vote for yours, Olham - I like the little propeller in the front! I got my brother-in-law the Red Baron's autobiography for Christmas, and read it myself - a wonderful, sad story. Criminee, some of those bikes - if you wrecked they'd have to hose down the road and strain the water just to find something to bury!
Olham 164 Posted November 23, 2014 Mmuahahahahaaa!!! I like the little propeller in the front! Only just realised: the tank is an early bomb shape! Craaa - zeee!!!

Hauksbee 103 Posted November 24, 2014 Maybe it's a Rotary Engine and he has to spin the prop to get it started? And a Blip Switch instead of brakes?
JimAttrill 24 Posted December 7, 2014 There was a motorbike made, in Germany I think, that had a rotary engine mounted in the front wheel. I think it had a 3-cylinder engine, or maybe a 5. It did work but was impossible to steer what with the gyroscopic precession forces. In 1919 there was a British motor bike - the 'pax' with a 3-cylinder rotary engine in the back wheel. Ah, found the German bike - it was a Megola and quite successful as a racer. The trouble with googling 'rotary' is that the Wankel engine and the WWI engines have the same name but work completely differently ... http://big-diesel.blogspot.com/2009/08/megalo-concept-engine-on-wheel.html
