INSTALLATION :
1. Drop the folders called "Type 74", "Type76", and "Type 77" into your "Aircraft" directory.
for WOV : Wings Over Vietnam/Objects/Aircraft
for SFP1 : Strike fighters/Objects/Aircraft
2. For WOV, you should have Patch 1 & the latest Weapons Pack installed.
For SFP1, you you have up to SP3 & the Weapons Pack installed.
Deuces' Effects Packages are suggested. As are Fubar512's Sounds Packages.

NOTES:
A. This mod is primarily intended for WOV, but was tested in & will work for the earlier SFP1 series
Sims.
B. v1.8 Changes since the earlier versions in IAF MiG Pack v1.6:
1. As SFP1 becomes more difficult to find, WOV compatibility is crucial. Cockpits of the earlier
versions were based on the stock SFP1 F-104G. This has been changed to the A-4B & A-4C pits common to both
SFP1 & WOV. Both pits are a stopgap until the SFP1/WOV modding community releases proper MiG cockpits.
2. Availiblity of WOV allows for the more accurate MiG-21PF .LODs as opposed to the earlier PFM LODs in
order to reflect the fact the Type 76 was based on the Soviet MiG-21PF, and the Type 77 based on the Soviet
MiG-21FL models. Type 74 continues to use the MiG-21F .LODs. IAF 23mm Gunpod continues to be a compromise
until such time as a proper GP-9 gunpod is introduced. Droptanks for the Type 74 & Type 76 MiGs are deleted.
It is known that the Type 74 used some form of IAF availible non-Soviet droptank, but we still
haven't been able to determine which one. Soviet 490 ltr tanks were only introduced with the Type 77.
3. In keeping with further research, all the IAF MiG-21 series now have working Radar Warning Recievers. IAF
MiGs were originally fitted with Serina 2 rear hemisphere RWRs then further upgraded.
4. The Indians were initially very skeptical of the MiG-21P ( Fishbed-Cs with the 30mm guns removed ) that the
Soviets initially offered for sale. IAF pilots demanded & got the Soviets to jury rig a GP-9 Gunpod to the Type
74 Migs before delivery to India. Type 76 Migs were also supposed to recieve this modification, but the 1965
India-Pakistan War broke out before this could be carried out. During the War, IAF pilots of the 28th "1st
Supersonics" Sqdn saw extensive service. Due to a lack of AA-2 missiles, the Type 74s used the gunpod exclusively
in battle, while the scarce AA-2 Atolls were reserved for the gunless Type 76 MiGs. Fortunately for the Indians, the
Pakistanis also suffered from a shortage of AIM-9B Sidewinders for their F-86F-35 Sabres & F-104A Starfighters.
After the 1965 War, the IAF quickly replaced both the Type 74 and Type 76 MiGs with the Type 77s. Soviet Doctrine,
which had favored missiles at the expense of guns on fighters, was changed by the combat experiences of the Indians
in 1965, and the North Vietnamese during the 1960s...

A WORD BEFORE

I know, that there is a MiG-21S available already at the download section. It was made by Starfighter. I used it a lot of times, but i had always the feeling, that this bird was to capable, to agile. Additionally it does not 100% looks like the S. Thatswhy i decided to make my own version of the MiG-21S. First of all i used the october2008 patch data.ini, while Starfighters bird based on an older patch.
I deleted the periscope at the canopy, the protection blades under the side air intakes and the gun. Then i increased the weight to the correct value and fixed the gunpod position etc.

HISTORY

In the mid 60th it became obviesly, that the MiG-21 of the second generation had some weakpoints. First of all was the radar system not capable enough. The range of the plane was to short and the air to ground capability was to weak.
To overcome the first weakpoint the MiG designers decided to introduce the new radar system RP-22 Saphir. This radar was originally developed as S-23 for the high agile dogfighter project E-8, which was canceled to favor the swing wing design, which we know today as MiG-23.
Because the S-23 was to big for the MiG-21 nose cone it was downsized. Especially the size of the radar antanna was reduced. So the maximum detection range of the system was decreased from 54km to 30km. But this was 50% more the old RP-21 could offer. So the RP-22 Saphir was selected, and the S in MiG-21S was the indicator for the improved radar.
To give the MiG-21 longer legs, the designers decided to implement the long backfueltank which was already used at the MiG-21R recon bird. Further the miG-21S got two additionally wet hardpoints under the wings. So the S could carry 3 fuel drop tanks instead 1 as the older versions. With the 2 new weaponstations the air to ground capability of the plane was doubled. The bird now was able to carry 2.000kg of weapons instead 1.000kg as before.
On paper the MiG-21S was an excellent and capable bird. But it was not loved by their pilots. It was nearly 1.000kg heavier than a MiG-21F-13 and 500kg heavier than a MiG-21PF, but still had the same engine. So the MiG-21S had lost a lot of the agility of their forrunners and was not more the born dogfighter.

I edited the Data file to fit the S. I deleted the periscope, the gun and the protection blades to give this bird the shape of the MiG-21S.

This is my first work .this is a remodeling of mig-21MF . I made some changes, easy flight model, new hangar and loading screen ,can fire ASM, Semi active radar homing AA missiles .
Some information about MIG-21M/MF Indian Air force-----MiG-21M/MF [Fishbed J] - Type 96
The MiG-21M/MF (Type 96) is a Multi-role version with one R-11-300 turbojet with 13,688 lbs. of thrust. The aircraft has 4 pylons which can carry external fuel tanks, air-to-air missiles or twin barrel guns. Has a zero speed, zero altitude ejection seat. The MF variant has a R-11F2S-300 turbojet, otherwise similar to the 'M' variant.

A. Installation :
1. Drop the Type 96B folder into your Strike Fighters/Objects/Aircraft, or your
Wings Over Vietnam/Objects/Aircraft folder.
2. Open the "Add To Sounds Folder" and drop the four .wav files into either your
Strki Fighters/Sounds, or your Wings Over Vietnam/Sounds folder.
3. Your copy of Strike Fighters should be patched to SP3.1 standard. You copy of
Wings Over Vietnam should be patched to Patch 2 stand. You should also have
the latest version of the Weapons Pack ( availible at http:// www.combatace.com/ )
installed as well.
4. Note that the Type 96B was the designation of MiG-21MFs delivered from the Soviet Union.
Indian production at HAL, was of the Type 96 ( MiG-21M ) with a slightly less capable engine.
If you wish a Type 96, simply copy your Type 96B folder, rename the copy Type 96, and add the Type 96
config.ini, Type 96 data.ini, & 101 Sqdn skin included with this download.
B. Notes :
1. This version of the Type 96B now includes Mago & Badger's excellent MiG-21MF cockpit
& radar display. FM & sounds have been "Fubar-ized". Two separate skins ( one for
Type 96, & one for Type 96B included.

The cockpit is an WOI stock F-15A cockpit.
To Install:
1.Dump All folders in the inside the "Aircraft" folder in your WOI/WOE/SFP1...Object/Aircraft folder.
2.The folder inside of "Weapons" goes into your WOI/WOE/SFP1...Object/Weapons folder
3. Use the "Weponeditor" to add this Data.

It should be noted at this time, 2 other skins by Ghostrider883, the "4Ag" and "15_YT" need NO updating. All the decals and skin bmps work just fine with the later lods. Sometimes one actually gets lucky..... If there are other skins for this aircraft, please compare the decal ins and skin bmps to MAKE SURE they'll fit the newer lod.
You'll also be using the weapons editor to add several weapons (mostly a new HAL Mig-21 Reco Pop), but double check your weaponsdata ini that the latest versions of the HAL missiles and twin IRM racks are installed.

Weapons carraige has been updated to reflect the use of some 'stand-off' style A-G missiles.
I've NOT included any of the skins, as these were done by ghostrider883, but I've updated the decal ini for the "7Sq" skin. The skin bmps themselves fit fine, and need no updating (which is good, as I didn't really want to get into that!).
PLEASE!!! (must I beg?) read the enclosed readme for detailed install instructions -- ya'll sensing a pattern here???

ps: just in case anyone is interested, I've updated all the Pakistani MiG-21/J/F-7s as well, but they need to use pre-patch lods, which at the moment cannot be uploaded. I'm trying to figure out a work around...

Iraqi F-7B v1.8

This is the Chengdu F-7B in Iraqi Service, updated to v1.8 for compatabily with the recently released Iran-Iraq Campaign. As such, it has been updated with an A-4B cockpit ( for WOV compatability ), and RWR ( to use Fubar's MiGRWR sounds, Fishbed C engine .wav file, and the French Matra IRMs used by the Iraqis.

it for all game versions.

Added SF2 Mig variants. Changed FMs little bit based on Fubar512 values on
alpha stall to make Migs usable in knife fight. It not bleeds speed in sharp
high AOA turns so much. Added vetral fin from Fubar512 FM.

Fixed reversed nose gear rotation.
SF2 version was removed - it will be separate pack.
This pack inludes all official Thirdwire MIG-21 models as flyable jets with
cokcpits in most complete form what my modding knowledge allows. All in easy
install form. I am not author of any 3d pits, FMs, sounds. All is what i
downloaded from Combatace or made by Thirdwire. I want to thank to original authors
of included files and this nice sim. Hope it is ok to reuse their work to
provide really complete, up-to-date and easy to install Mig-21 package. I was
always sad with that great pits available and terrible way to install it into
latest ptached games and it is always missed something. Loading screens, loadout
picture, good FM and so on... Now with latest patches FMs are usable and nicely
flyable so i used it as base FMs for pack.

Every official MIG-21 flyable with pit for SFP1, WOV, WOE, WOI and SF2. I corrected
some errors in pits, Used latest Oct 2008 TW patches as base for FM fat files
with tweaks in engine (thrust for each model, spool up time, radar, weight). FM
is not touched and i think it flies now ok with latest patch. Diferent sounds for
each engine model is included with Mig RWR sounds. Better Mig pilots too. Each
Mig-21 has loading and hangar screen and camouflage sample patch with loadout
picture. All includes corresponding serial numbers to choose from. I made
Numbers.lst for Vietnam and Arab airforces by hand. All Migs have right service
nationality in dat as was originaly in each game install.

overwirte all potential files. Dont worry all dat files are based on latest
Oct 2008 TW patches. Sure if you want you can backup first whole game. Just
for cause i forgot something. After that just start game and enjoy all MIG-21

This aircraft is based on the stock MiG-21MF in the sim. This is a fictional aircraft capable of carrying all modern Russian, Chinese and Indian weapons.
This package includes instructions to add three new nations Strike Fighters Virtual Red Air Force and Strike Fighters Virtual Blue Air Force.
Also included are personalized decals for SimHQ SFP1 community's members (you guys rock!!!!), Custom Ranks, Callsigns and Wingman names.
Extract the rar file to a temporary folder. Read the following steps for proper installation of this mod. wherever advised, please make backups of the mentioned files.

HISTORY

In 1993 the MiG-21-93 made its debut on various airshows, for instance in Le Bourget and Berlin. It was a major update for the MiG-21bis which incorporated a modern radar, a modern data link system and modern ECM capability.
The MiG-21-93 had a dramatically increased combat capabilities. It now can engage air targets at medium range and can use precison guided weapons against ground and sea targets.
India updated its MiG-21bis fleet to the 21-93 standard and called this bird now MiG-21Bison. The bison showed its combat efficiency in various training combats including against american F-15's.

I took the MiG-23 drop tank to create the longer MiG-21bis style back of the bird. Then i used CIACHOs AKU-58 file to create the chaff flare dispensers
And finally my little share

I edited the Data file to implement the guided missiles, added the ECM and Chaffs etc. And i modified the original Skin to create a fictional East German Bison, the russian and the Indian version.
I know that the Indian Bisons are more grey than the light blue, but due the Fake pilot methode i used to place the added objects i had to decide which color this objects should have and so i decided to use a light blue instead the grey.
I hope that i havent forgotten someone to give the proper credit.

INSTALLATION

1. unzip into your aircraft folder
The subfolder MiG-21Bison will be created
2. make sure that the following files are placed in aircraft folder, NOT in MiG-21Bison folder:
MiG-21IRWerfer.LOD and bmp
MiG-21Stör
WPact_Pilot.LOD and bmp
otherwise you will see pilots sitting on the wings of the bird.
3. Now install the backtank with following steps
3.1. Put file MiG-21Back.lod and MiG-21Back.bmp into your Weapons folder
3.2. include following lines into your weapondata.ini

The "A" model is specialized for groundnd attack and light bombing.
Beginning in 1993, Russia did not offer spare parts for the MiG-23 and MiG-29 for the Romanian Air Force. Initially, this was the context for the modernization of the Romanian MiG-21's with Elbit Systems, and because it was easier for the Romanians to maintain these fighter jets. A total of 110 MiG-21s were modernized under the LanceR designation. Today, only 48 LanceRs are operational for the RoAF. It can use both Western and Eastern armament such as the R-60M, R-73, Magic 2, or Python III missiles. They will be replaced in 2012 when new fighter jets will arrive, such as the F-16, F/A-18, Eurofighter Typhoon or Gripen. However due to lack of funds the MiG-21 LanceR may fly for years longer.

I.
In mid 70th the egyptian technicians replaced the R-11 engine of the MiG-21F13 by the R-13 which came with the MiG-21MF. The new and stronger engine made the MiG-21F13 faster and more agil. It also does not suffer anymore by compressor stalls which were common with the R-11 engine and the R-13 engine also not so often "died" if a missile was fired, so that restart of the engine in the air was not so often neccessary anymore.
The most interessing point of the replacement of the engine is, that the R-13 normaly does not fit into the fuselage of the MiG-21F13. But the egyptian technicians found a way to overcome this problem and make fit was does not fit. So the most agil MiG-21 was born.
