Copy and overwrite the DS_targets.ini file in your DS_Terrain folder
Copy all missions in your WOE_ mission folder and....fly on the desert.

If you play with one aircraft player, you'll start from the hangar place and you'll need taxi to hold runway.
If you play with two or more aircraft player you'll start form the runway.

Strike at Dong Hoi.

These missions are designed for Wings over Vietnam.

Take-off from USS Kitty Hawk in the South China Sea. Destroy the Dong Hoi runway to neutralize enemy air activity in the area. Fly F-8C Crusaders to escort A-7E Corsairs on the way to Dong Hoi.

Willing to gain total control of this ocean, NATO and NATO-friendly nations have launched a series of attacks against the Warsaw Pact. The Pacific Ocean is almost under NATO control. Remainig focuses of hostility include the Kamchatka Peninsula, the Sea of Okhotsk, the Russian and North Korean coasts of the Sea of Japan, the yellow sea, and the North and South China Sea.

Briefing:

Reconnaissance mission: Perform a recon flight over Nikolskoye-1 Airfield, located near Severnoye Nikolskoye, in Komandorskiye Ostrova. Photographic information about anti-aircraft and communication facilities is to be gathered. You' ve ve flying a RF-4C Phantom II, deployed from Task Force 70, CSG-5. Iron Hand mission: Neutralise SAM radars and EW radars on Nikolskoye-1 Airfield, located near Severnoye Nikolskoye, in Komandorskiye Ostrova. You'll be flying a F-4G Wild Weasel V, deployed from Erickson Air Station, in the Aleutian Islands. Escort Mission: Escort Wild Weasels birds performing Iron Hand on Nikolskoye-1 Airfield, located near Severnoye Nikolskoye, in Komandorskiye Ostrova. You'll be flying F-15A Eagle, and deployed from Casco Cove CGS Airfield. A small number of hostiles is expected. Intellicence report:Soviet fighters are performing sweeps to gather information about our ECM. Data gathered will be of great importance for the east development of counter-countermeasures and EW. If shot down, debris from the Migs will be available for study.

Your squadron: You and your squadron are on CAP in the area at the time. Shoot'em down.

VMFA-531 Mission Pack 'Gold' (WOV) V1.0

Welcome to VMFA-531 Mission Pack 'Gold', for Wings Over Vietnam (WOV). This pack covers the entire set of missions flown by Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 531 (VMFA-531) between the dates of April 13 through April 30, 1965. Where possible I have tried to stay true to the historical write-up of Mike Wanamaker and Lee R. De haven*, given the constraints of the publicly available aircraft and ground objects in WOV. Where necessary, certain stock aircraft and ground objects are used in place of their historical counterparts.

*Special mention goes to Ken King (531_Ghost) for commissioning this work.

NOTE: This mission pack has been optimized and tested to work with the October 2008 patch for Wings Over Vietnam.

This pack contains over 60 single missions, scripted to reenact the engagements undertaken by the F-4Bs of VMFA-531. You will also get the chance to fly sorties in support of VMFA-531 in other aircraft, such as the A-6A, F-100D (acting as a Misty fast FAC) and the F-105D.

Download this pack to a neutral location on your local machine, extract the files, and then consult the detailed ReadMe for installation instructions.

Files are included to drag-drop this mission pack onto a clean install of WOV (patched to October 2008) with minimal configuration required. Detailed instructions are also included to perform a merge-install.

A final word
This 'Gold' release of the VMFA-531 mission pack completes the set originally published in a series of mission packs from late 2007 onwards. This final version is intended to replace those earlier separate mission packs by offering everything in one place, re-written and enhanced to make full use of the October 2008 patched version of Wings Over Vietnam. The work presented here is the culmination of over 2 years worth of effort. I had a lot of fun doing it, learned a lot, and met some good people along the way. I hope that you enjoy it. Scramble at dawn

On the dawn of October 15, 1973, at the Yom Kippur war, two A-4 Aight IDF aircraft are awaiting on the runway of Etzion airbase near Eilat, fully loaded with rockets and fuel, ready for a cas mission near Suez, when the alarm goes on. Scramble, Scramble…
Flights of Egyptian Migs are attacking Etzion airbase with dawn.
Try to take off with your A-4 Aight, and try to shoot down as many of the attackers, as you can. Just keep in mind that the A-4 Aight is a close support aircraft and not a fighter.

To install:
Copy the two msn files into:

In order to play the Egyptian side you must have the Mig-17 add-on installed

The Ofira Air Battle - Historic mission for WOI

Historical Wings over Israel missions:

The first air battle of Yom Kippur war

The Ofira Air Battle was the first air battles of the Yom Kippur War. It took place near the Israeli Air Force base in Ofira, Sharm el-Sheikh in South Sinai on 6 October, 1973, around 14:00. It involved two Israeli Phantoms from the 107, knights of the Orange tail squadron and, 20 Egyptian MiG-17s, that were on their way to attack Israeli Defense Forces in the area. They were supported by eight MiG-21s fighters. By the end of the brief six-minute battle, seven MiGs were confirmed to have been shot down. The remaining MiGs disengaged and the Israeli Phantoms returned to their base.
The crews of the Israeli F-4 were awarded with The Medal of Distinguished Service at the end of the war.

Israeli F-15A Baz vs. Syrian Mig-29
The year is 1988. Such a dogfight between F-15 and Mig-29, was never happened over Lebanon. Nevertheless, in the sky of 'wings over Israel' are two Israeli F-15s engaging 2 Syrian Mig-29s. A special issue in these missions is evading the long range semi active radar homing missiles.
Who will win this battle – is for you to decide…

The Ace of Aces

First fighter squadron 101 Neshers vs. Egyptian Mig-21.

Colonel Giora Epstein is a retired colonel in the Israeli Air Force (IAF) believed to have shot down more jet aircraft than any other pilot. Epstein was credited with 17 kills, all against Egyptian aircraft. With seventeen confirmed kills, Giora Epstein remains the world's top scoring jet fighter pilot making him the "ace of all aces".
During Yom Kippur War, October 20, 1973; already a double Ace with 10 kills, Giora Epstein maneuvers his 101 Squadron Nesher after a decoy of 2 Mig-21 Egyptian aircrafts. On the deck are 16 Mig-21s waiting under the Israeli radar coverage, in a perfect ambush. After 3 of the Neshers had to return to base, Epstein fought alone against 11 Mig-21s. The results of the battle were: 4 Mig-21s downed by the Israeli Ace.

Bat squadron 119 Mirage IIIc Shahak vs. Jordanian Hunters

On November 13, 1966 a flight of 8 Jordanian Hunters attacked Israeli ground force near Samoa village in the southern Hebron mountain. Two Israeli Mirages from the 119 Bat Sq, leaded by Ran Ronen engaged the Hunters. After a prolonged low level pursuit, Ronen shoots down the Hunter.

'First Mig kill by Nesher' - Historic missions for woi

Historical Wings over Israel missions:
First Mig kill by Nesher

In 1973 The 101 First Fighter Squadron has got its new Nesher aircrafts from IAI. On January 8 1973, a flight of 4 IDF Neshers was directed, in an intercept course towards a flight of 4 Syrian Mig-21s, over the mountain of Druze, an elevated volcanic region in southern Syria. The Neshers engaged the Mig-21s in low altitude and low speed. One of the Neshers had shoot down a Mig-21 using a sidewinder missile. This was the first Mig kill by Israeli Nesher. Many to come in the future.

You can select either the Israeli side or Syrian side.
In order to play the Mig-21, you must have the Mig-21MF add-on installed.
