    1. The Hunter F.1 entered service with the Royal Air Force in July 1954. It was the first high-speed jet aircraft equipped with radar and fully powered flight controls to go into widespread service with the RAF.
The Hunter replaced the Gloster Meteor, the Canadair Sabre, and the de Havilland Venom jet fighters in service. Initially, low internal fuel capacity restricted the Hunter's performance, giving it only a maximum flight endurance of about an hour. A tragic incident occurred on 8 February 1956, when a flight of eight Hunters was redirected to another airfield due to adverse weather conditions.
Six of the eight aircraft ran out of fuel and crashed, killing one pilot. Another difficulty encountered during the aircraft's introduction was the occurrence of surging and stalling with the Avon engines.

    2. This is a VAQ-129 skin of the EA-6B.

      DISCLAIMER:

The skin is not exact due to mainly texture mapping limitations of the SF2:NA Prowler, particularly around the intake area and nose area. I want to thank Wrench and HomeFries for supplying me with the necessary templates in order for me to make this happen.

That said, the skin is only for the TW Prowler, which comes with SF2:NA. Just drop the folder in the appropriate directory and it can be selected as "CoNA" for the AI if so configured. If you are using the EA-6B Super Pack by HomeFries then it would go in the EA-8B_98 folder (ICAP III) but can be used in any of the versions in that pack.

Updated Hill AFB skins for the SF2 F-105D

This is an update for Daddyairplanes´ Hill Afb Skins (http://combatace.com/files/file/13741-f-105d-hill-afb-skins/) that I did, and are uploaded with DAs permission. The main changes from the previous version are added details and weathering as well as restoring missing rivet and panel lines.

So 90% of the credit goes to Daddyairplanes, I only did a visual tuneup.

      Happy flying,

      ORIGINAL README:

Semi Historical Hill AFB F-105D Skins

The 466th TFS, USAF Reserve, was lhe last operator of the F-105 Thunderchief.
They flew their last mission before converting to the F-16A in 1983. Due to how
long they flew the 'Thud' and their proximity to Ogden Air Logistics Center,
where many aircraft go to be repainted, they flew 3 Thuds in colors other than
the traditional SEA camo. Those schemes (SEA Wraparound, European 1, and a one
off Desert scheme based on the pattern of the first two) are represented here.
Also provided are black tailcode for the 466th ('HI') and 50 black serial numbers.
Sorry only 50 as the Thud was getting rarer by that time. The first 10 serials are
historical with the first 3 being the ones used by the aircraft so painted. the other
40 numbers are redone TW serials spanning FY59-62.

This is not a completely accurate rendition, the pattern is different than T.O. 1-1-4
states for SEA Wraparound and Euro 1. What I did was to wraparound the stock skin, then
swap the colors (as was done IRL). I also did not do the nose art's for the aircraft
due to other commmitments, and lack of time.

      Much credit goes to :
ludo.54m for his templates, which allowed me more freedom to color while keeping the
      panel lines and rivets
Soulfreak, both for the idea and material support with references
TK for the stock bird and decals
the greater CA community for support and education over the years

      Included in the mod are

Desert, Euro 1 and SEA Wraparound skins
my Expanded Squadronlist.ini, which puts 466th TFS as selectable in menu
the Photoshop templates I used to create this mod.

    5. In late 1977, the Philippine government purchased 35 secondhand U.S. Navy F-8Hs that were stored at Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona.
Twenty-five of them were refurbished by Vought and the remaining 10 were used for spare parts. As part of the deal, the U.S. would
train Philippine pilots in using the TF-8A. They were mostly used for intercepting Soviet bombers. The F-8s were grounded in 1988
and were finally withdrawn from service in 1991 after they were badly damaged by the Mount Pinatubo eruption, and have since been
      offered for sale as scrap.

Here a new skin with its historical decalset for our F-8 collection.

    6. Thailand purchased 14 A-7E's and 4 TA-7C's for coastal defense and sea patrol duties.
Aircraft were delivered during the summer of 1995 and were in service with the 104th "White Shark" squadron,
1st Wing at U-Tapao International Airport. These aircraft are currently not operational as of July 20, 2007.
However, the Royal Thai Navy continues to maintain the operability of the aircraft with the necessary maintenance
and by starting them up and taxiing them on the airport's tarmac

Here a new skin with its historical decalset for our A-7 collection.

    7. This is an additional skin for my F-4K Phantom II - Royal Australian Navy portraying the markings of 724 Squadron.

In real life, 724 Squadron (or VC-724) was the RAN Fleet Air Arm's fast jet training squadron. 724 Squadron commissioned in the RAN in 1955 as a fighter training squadron. In real life, it operated various types including the C-47, Sea Vampire, Sea Venom, Macchi MB-326H trainers, and A-4G Skyhawks. From 1972, VC-724 operated only Macchis and Skyhawks. Australia's carrier, HMAS Melbourne was decommissioned in 1982, and VC-724 transferred its Macchis to the RAAF and absorbed VF-805's Skyhawks. The Squadron decommissioned in 1984, with its remaining aircraft being sold to the RNZAF.

The Phantom skin provided here contains the "gold delta" tail design used on many of VC-724's Skyhawks. In line with the markings of my operational Phantoms, the decals for the squadron patch (splitter plate), squadron number, and ship name are also provided.
