    1. SF2 Korean War Era PLAAF/NKPAF MiG-15

      SF2 Korean War Era PLAAF/NKPAF MiG-15

      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged, =PLUS= SF2I Expansion Pak 1 (Required!!!) =

*Note: You =MUST= have SF2:I Expansion Pak 1 to gain access to the MiG-15. If you don't have it, downloading this mod will do you no good, as you won't have the aircraft it's intended for*

A small reskin/decal mod for the stock 3W MiG-15 (no suffix) Fagot-A, in PLAAF markings of the 72 GvIAP. Which we all know, of course, was "actually" North Korean, flown by "advisors" from the Soviet Union <grin>.
It represents the first operational PLAAF/NKPAF Squadron for the MiG, which scored the first air-to-air kills against UN forces in Korea.

Skins maps are in jpg format, decal randomization is TRUE.

Included are modifided data, loadout and main inis (along with my PatentPending 'xMiG-15.ini' that allows for easy restoration to flyable status, after patching or game-generated random re-writes). A 'new' seat and my 'PilotER' figure are included, as well as new sounds. Stary's cockpit as well is here for you flying pleasure (with a repainted gunsight tga for those of us with Old Eyes ™). A Hangar screen is NOT included. The canopy opens via the Usual Suspect ™ keystroke, Shift/0.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Just for fun!

    2. Mig-23 MLD "Afghan Warrior" Skin

Soviet/Afghan AirForce Mig-23(MLD)'Afghan Warrior' skin for SF2(Any and all).

Skin to represent an example of the Mig-23(ML?) flown by the Soviet Air Force in Afghanistan during the invasion. The skin is based on a very old picture I found in an aircraft reference book.Since the photo is in Black and White and with a very high contrast, the aircrafts camo colours and serial numbers are based on speculation and every attempt has been made to make them look as close to the real world example,as possible.Historically,it has been speculated that a lot of Soviet Floggers and ground attack machines were painted with the shark mouth.A similar aircraft was rumored to have been shot down by a Pakistani F-16A Block 15.But,the wreckage as usual, fell inside Afghan territory and was never recovered hence, not giving much credibility to the claim.

This skin can only be used with the Mig-23 model made by TMF and only the sharp nosed one.For the model,I would suggest looking in the SFP1 section at many of Lindr2's mods(from which the base textures came). For starters,I would suggest this:http://combatace.com/files/file/11544-mig-23p-late/ (Though the cockpit may be a little advanced for the 80s).

NOTE:All the textures are in the BMP format and are of the 2048x2048 size.Users with slower machines may want to resize to half for optimal or even acceptable performance.

      Installation:
After unzipping Af_Vet,place the Folder inside the skins folder into the aircraft folder of your Mig-23.Note:If you do not know anything about the mod folder, the immediately stop the installation,go to the COmbatACE Forums,Go to the Strike Fighters 2 Knowledge Base and take a look at the thread explaining the Strike Fighters 2 mod folder mechanism.

      IMPORTANT:
I HEREBY CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OF THE CHANGES THIS MOD MAY RENDER TO YOUR GAME(Even though it doesn't).IF THIS MOD IS INSTALLED,THEN IT IS DONE ONLY BY THE WILL OF THE USER AND I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS.INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK.(The mod is perfectly safe, but I still claim no responsibility just to be safe!)

You have permission to modify these textures for your own mod(s) as long as I(lazarus1177) am acknowledged as the original author.THIS MOD IS RELEASED AS FREEWARE AND MUST BE USED,DISTRIBUTED AND TREATED AS SUCH.

I you have any questions or queries about any of my Mod(s),then I can be contacted at the Combatace forum.

    3. MiG-23MF´s Skins and Tweaks pack Part 1

MiG-23MF´s Skins and Tweaks pack Part 2

This has been the effort of a couple of months, trying to get as accurate as possible all the MiG-23MF´s. It comprehends all Warsaw Pact planes as well as the Cuban and the Semi ficticious Kyrgyzstan AF, most of them may now match completely since the paint differed from plane to plane, and all the info i got is from internet.

part one includes planes from Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia and Cuba.

Also i used the cockpit made by Ordway and tweaked by Lindr2 before he dissapeared, a big thanks to both, actually this was a Lindr2`s initiative and i´m just completing it.

i´ve also created different folder per Nation to make it more interesting.

Some decals have been borrowed from previous packs, please if you feel them familiar let me know and i will give you credit.

      INSTALLATION:

I´ve created a Main Folder and all you got to do is drop it´s contents in the Objects\Aircraft sub-folders, once done you can paste all the contents to the Objects folder of the SF2 game you wish and that´s it, you now will have several Warsaw Pact MiG-23MF planed ready to fly!

Feel free to use them only with no payware intentions, or there will be a bunch of guys hunting you for sure:)

A big thanks to Daniel Cocas Lieabert for all the patience to answer my questions and some of the decals made by him, to Eric Johnson who reminded of the weathering, Gepard and Soulfreak, who helped me with German numbers and all the friends i have in FB who liked the pics to complete this job.

    8. MiG-21FL EAF

      MiG-21FL EAF

"An Egyptian Air Force Mig-21PFS serialled 8070. The fighter is camouflaged but,
strangely enough, the canopy frame and the saddle tank are not - as if to tell the
      Israeli pilots where to aim"

A little mod skin for a famous EAF plane (references included).

I think it could add variety to SF2I and maybe our friend RAN could use in his
      historic, outstanding missions.

      To install:

simply put the EAFcamo3 folder in your Mig-21FL folder.

      That's all.

      Enjoy.

    9. MiG-15bis Fagot-B, NKPAF "The Hunters"

      MiG-15bis Fagot-B, NKPAF "The Hunters"

      = For SF2, Full-4 Merged, PLUS Expansion Pak 1 =

As stated above, you MUST have -at minimum!!- SF2 (full-4 merged) plus/and/or SF2I with Expansion Pak 1. If you do not have these minimum requirements, DO NOT DOWNLOAD this package, as you'll be unable to use it.

The skin is a base natural metal, with a partly repainted (from a partial template) "nose" bmp to add the NKPAF Red Nose. Those familiar with actual historical marking will note that is IS slightly smaller, and without the central cutout for the Bort numbers, than those made (in)famous during the Korean War. Those familiar with the movie "The Hunters" will note that the 'MiGs' were really F-84s, but that's neither here nor there <grin>.....
So, basically what this is, is a re-purposing of of the decal set as used on Pasko's MiG-15 to recreate the movie Enemy Aircraft ™, now using TK's model from Expansion Pak 1.
However ... number randomization has NOT been activated for this skin, so with luck "7-11" should be the first aircraft shown. After all, you want to fly as Casey Jones, right? Not as some lower-echelon flunky??

The latest (as of 7/11 patch + all the DLCs -don't know if they changed/added anything) Data ini is included, as I've activated the canopy, added a different pilot (my craptastic PilotER), and a seat ("liberated" from Pakso's old version -- fits quite nicely, too!) for him to park it on.
If you have the Cuban MiG-15 skin/ini pak, the data ini herein will replace that one. Allow the Overwrite. I've made some AI changes, to try and improve the insane pitch-up they perform on take-offs.

The canopy is (still!) activated via a manual animation key (use shift/0 to open and close it).

As always, fairly easy to follow, highyl detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....

8/11/2013 Note: It's suggested you ONLY add the skin and decals to the KAW MiG-15bis. THAT one has the good flight model by Fubar512. So, do NOT use the data ini included herein!

    10. MiG-21F Fishbed-C, Fuerza Aérea Revolucionara (Cuba)

MiG-21F Fishbed-C, Fuerza Aérea Revolucionara (Cuba)

= For SF2, Any and All, Merged or Not, With Access to MiG-21F =

As stated above, you MUST have an install that has the MiG-21F in it. As this is pretty much ALL installs, it should work in all types, merged or not. It also assumes you've made the aircraft flyable. If not, consult the CombatAce Knowledge Base for instructions.

The skin is a base natural metal with a partly repainted (from a partial template) tail bmp to add the FAR rudder flash. The stock in-game Bort number decals are used, as all the photographic evidence seems to point that way. (in fact, other than the repainted tail bmp, everything is stock!)

The latest (as of 1/11 patch) _data ini is included, as I've activated the canopy, and included a modified Loadout ini, that adds the centerline drop tank to the base Air-to-Air loadout, and reset the RECON loadout. The engine sound has been set to the old TMF "MiGEngine.wav" (not supplied), but there are several good/better ones out there for you to find.
A replacement main ini (MiG-21F.ini), and a NEW avionics ini that activates the gun-ranging radar are included. When installing allow for the overwrite. Any other skins will be automatically added (so, not to worry!)

The canopy is activated via a manual animation key (use shift/0 to open and close it). As all the decals used are stock, there are no additional decals to be added.

As always, fairly easy to follow, highyl detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....

    25. LSK Mig-21bis

Sometimes ago I made LSK/NVA historical serials using Soulfreak’s temps, including “Q” badges on known planes.
I wanted to use them on a silver and maybe a camo skin.
But TK made the Camo for SF2EU and Gepard the bluesilver one for SF1.

So I used my decals with those existing skins to add a bit of authenticy to the game.

      I hope You like it.

      What’s in:

      1- original TK skin numbers and patch;
      2- original TK skin with new decals;
      3- Gepard’s NVAHellblau skin with new decals;

To Install: simply put everything in your main mod folder.

Thanks to Gepard who kindly allowed me to use his brand new NVAHellblau skin in SF2
