    2. VMF-211 "Wake Island Defenders" F4F-3 Wildcat

      F4F-3 Wildcat Skin for SF/WoV/WoE Original Release: Nov. 10, 2005, Updated 12/18/08

      VMF-211 "Wake Island Defenders"

(looks like this is yet ANOTHER one that never made it here to CA!!!)

      ==UPDATED 12/18/08!!!!!==
      -From the Original Readme:

This skin represents the 12 Wildcats from Marine Fighter Squadron 211, during the Defense of Wake.
I must apologize for the doubts I have about historical accuracy, as the 3 artworks and 2 photos I have or have seen, the only numbers visible are "8" and "11". So I made the assumption that aircraft 1 - 12 were flown off one of the carriers to reinforce the Marine garrison. If this is incorrect, I extend my apologies to any of our Marine brothers and sisters out there playing this.

The placement of the numbers on the upper wing, nose and vert tail is as of my research on the other -3 skins I did, for the approximate same time period. As none of the art or pics showed the tail, I safely assume this is correct.

And as today is the 235 Birthday of the Corps, this is my way of saying "Thank You" for almost 2 and a half centuries of service to our Great Country

      Semper Fi!

      --Update Info:

This package will replace, in it's entirety, the VMF-211 skin released in 2005.

The update includes a completly REDONE skin, based off new templates I created for some other Wildcat mods, ALL new decals (of the correct font and size) including BuNums and the aircraft name tag on the rudder.

-= NOTE: You MUST have the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06 to get the WW2 weapons and guns and such =-
-== This aircraft has been tested in SF/WoV/WoE and post-patch WoI (8/08) as well as post 9/08 & 10/08 SF/WoV/WoE. There still are some 'issues' with prop-plane flight models, but there has been a MARKED improvement!! You use it in these Post Patch Environments at YOUR own risk ==-

As usual, there's a nice conscise ReadMe for you to NOT ignore...so please read it!!

Expect the full version of the -3 'cat to appear very shortly...

    3. Ki-43 Oscar (ArmorDave) Skin and Ini Update Pak

Ki-43, Early War Skin and Ini Update Pak For SF/WoV/WoE PTO Installs

This is a partial re-skin, and ini update package for ArmorDave's Ki-43 Oscar. IMPORTANT: this is NOT for the Oscar from Wolf257's WW2 Planes Pak -- it is ONLY for the Oscar released by ArmorDave in his "Japanese Planes Pak" that contains the Zeke, Betty and this early model Oscar.

The skin represents 11 Sentai, 1st Chutai during the opening months of the war, as seen and used in Southeast Asia, Netherlands East Indies, Malaya, etc region. Decals and instructions are provided below in the "To Create the Additional Chutias" will allow you to also recreate the 2nd & 3rd Chutais, effectively giving you the entire Fighter Regiment. I say this is a 'partial reskin', as I only created layers in a new template to remove ONLY those items necesary for this mod.

Also included is an updated textureset.ini for the original 'camo' skin, giving it the corrected Sentai/Chutai names.

New, updated inis include some small renaming in the main ini (to help diferentiate this early model Ki-43-Ia from Wolfs and other Oscar mods by me), data ini with additional and corrected lighting, and the cockpit ini with a new gunsight tga.
      The Flight Model remains untouched!

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, It has =NOT= been tested it in post 8/28/08 patch WoI, nor post 9/08 - 10/08 patch SF/WoV/WoE. You use it in these enviroments at YOUR own risk. =

=This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era guns, bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package.=

As expected, there's the standard detailed readme. It's kinda reccomended you give a look through, just so's you know what's going on!

    4. VMF-211, Ewa HI, December, 1941

F4F-3 Wildcat Skin, VMF-211, Ewa HI, for SF/WoV/WoE PTO installs

      -Yet another "Pearl Harbor Defender"
(well, almost -- they were all on the ground at the time....)

This skin represents VMF-211 as based at MCAS Ewa, Territority of Hawaii, approximatly December, 1941.

Information I've found in my researches seem to indicate that not all of 211' s aircraft were sent to Wake Island prior
to the Pearl Harbor Attack. So, I offer this skin.

The paint job is still the pre-war non-specular gray, sometimes called "Neutrality Gray", as photographic evidence,
and some references exist that point to the USMC not yet having applied the non-spec blue to the upper surfaces.
Decals represent the standard type as seen on Naval/Marine aircraft of the time, and include BuNums and aircraft
      type on the tail.

--NOTE: this mod is designed for use ONLY on the F4F-3 Wildcat mod I released some ago; NOT for the F4F-4. Totally different aircraft--

-= NOTE: You MUST have the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06 to get the WW2 weapons and guns and such =-
-== This aircraft has been tested in SF/WoV/WoE and post-patch WoI (8/08) as well as post 9/08 & 10/08
SF/WoV/WoE. There still are some 'issues' with prop-plane flight models, but there has been a MARKED
improvement!! You use it in these Post Patch Environments at YOUR own risk ==-

    5. 12 Squadron Wellington, Skin & Ini Pak

Vickers Wellington, Skin and Ini Update Pak -For SF/WoV/WoE ETO Installs-

Some small ini mods and a new skin (from a completely new template) for Veltro2K's RAF medium bomber.

New, modified inis include the data ini with additional and corrected lighting and bomb bay tweeks (which will allow the loading of the 2000 & 3000 lb "Cookie" bombs), and the cockpit ini with repositioned pilot station. The aforementioned lighting additions include landing, various formation and marker lights.
      The Flight Model remains untouched!

The skin represents 12 Squadron, approx late 1940/early 1941 time frame, after their return from the Battle of France, and trading in their Fairey Battles for Wellingtons. This skin, from a totally NEW template by me, is based off the solid UV maps so graciously provided by Veltro2k (thanks Ed!!!). The trademark 'geodesic' lines I've tried to duplicate as best as possible. The Serial number decals for 26 aircraft are also new. I cannot claim as high a historical accuracy as I'd like, having only found actual proof for 4 aircraft of 12 Squadron (B,C,R,V). The other serials were assigned to Wellingtons, I'm just not sure of their operational squadron usage.

The new templates are available upon request.

As expected, there's a nice detailed readme for you all to NOT ignore... so, give a good once over, huh?

    8. A6M2 Zero: Pearl Harbor & Midway Skins Set

Mitsubishi A6M2 Carrier Air Groups Skin Pak -- For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO installs

"Pearl Harbor & Midway Attackers" The Fighters

This package contains a set of 6 NEW skin and decal sets for ArmorDave's A6M2 Type 21 "Zero", IJN carrier based figher.

These skins are designed for a 'start of the war' time frame, up until approximately July/September 1942, when the paint scheme began to change from the 'light gray' to 'camo green'.

The carrier fighter groups represented here are:

      Akagi
      Hiryu
      Kaga
      Shokaku
      Soryu
      Zuikaku

as seen on the morning of 7 December, 1941, during the Attack on Pearl Harbor. They are also designed to be used on an upcoming Midway campaign, as my research seems to point to that the carrier figher air groups (at least for Akagi, Hiryu, Soryu and Kaga) pretty much carried the same markings up until mid-late 1942 (well, at least until their carriers were sunk...). Even during the Guadalcanal time frame, the Zekes seemed to still be painted in the 'light gray'.

They are NOT 100% historical; there are a few certain liberties I've taken to make them more usable for a slightly longer timeframe than should be historically accurate (more in the "Other Notes" section below). In other words, some squadron and flight specific markings have NOT been created. Although simpler in execution, it does gaul my sense of propriety and my bent toward "as close to 100% accuracy as possible". Such is life! :(

The skin were created using the new template I created for some other Zeke mods I've released; all new individual aircraft tail codes for 18-21 aircraft (depending on the ship) have also been supplied.

= IMPORTANT: These aircraft are designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, It has =NOT= been tested it in post 8/28/08 patch WoI, or post 9/08 - 10/08 patch SF/WoV/WoE. You use it in these enviroments at YOUR own risk. =

= This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package. Obviously, you'll also need AD's Zeke as well...it's also reccomended to have the Update Pak, also available here at CA =

    9. VF-6 'Shooting Stars" F4F-3 Wildcat

F4F-3 Wildcat Skin, VF-6, USS Enterprise, 12/7/41; for SF/WoV/WoE PTO installs

"Pearl Harbor Defenders" - American Fighters

This skin represents VF-6 "Shooting Stars" as based aboard USS Enterprise in December, 1941.

Decals represent the standard type markings as seen on Naval/Marine aircraft of the time, and include BuNums and aircraft type name on the tail. BuNums are accurate, as they ARE from -3 Wildcats, but my research has not turned up WHICH actual numbers were used on aircraft assigned to VF-6.

--NOTE: this mod is designed for use ONLY on the F4F-3 Wildcat mod I released some ago; NOT for the F4F-4. Totally different aircraft-- If you don't have the Update Pak for the -3 Wildcat, you can get it from Combat Ace:

    10. D3A "Val" Pearl Harbor Air Groups

Aichi D3A "Val" Carrier Air Groups Skin Pak -- For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO installs

"Pearl Harbor Attackers" - The Dive Bombers

This package contains a set of 6 NEW skins for Pasko's D3A "Val", IJN carrier based dive bomber.

These skins are designed for a 'start of the war' time frame, up until approximately Feb/March 1942, when the paint scheme began to change from the 'light gray' to a 'camo green' for the stike aircraft.

The carrier dive bomber groups represented here are:

      Akagi
      Hiryu
      Kaga
      Shokaku
      Soryu
      Zuikaku

as seen on the morning of 7 December, 1941, during the Attack on Pearl Harbor. This is obviously the "start of the war" paint scheme, of the light gray. Some of these aircraft also operated over China, prior to the Hawaiian Operation, and wore this same paint job.

The skin were created using a new template I created, based on the original skins, resized to 1024, with all new panel and rivet lines; all new individual aircraft tail codes for 18-21 aircraft (depending on the ship) have also been supplied.

Also included are modified data, loadout and cockpit inis. The loadout ini uses the correct WW2 Japanese bombs, the data and cockpit inis have been 'metric-ized' to show meters, kilometers per hour, etc (like I've done for several other Axis aircraft). NEW damage tgas have also been created and included, for that shot-up look. My Hangar and Loading screens are here as well, for those that might want to use them.

    11. F4F-4 Wildcat, Generic USN 1942 Skin

F4F-4 Wildcat Skin, Generic US Navy, 1942; for SF/WoV/WoE PTO installs

This is a somewhat "Generic" skin set for use by US Navy VF (Fighter Squadrons) for the March 1942 - January 1943 timeframe. It represents NO single squadron (hence the "generic" tile) and therefore can be used for any and all Wildcat squadrons as based aboard American aircraft carriers from Midway through the end of the Guadalcanal campaign timeframe, and probably for USMC squadrons as well (albeit with slightly different BuNums...).

It's the standard non-specular blue over gray, with stars in all 6 positions. As US carrier fighter squadrons seemed to have gone under an 'expansion' aboard ship; from the usual pre-war 15-18 aircraft, to 24-28 per squadron (ie: at Midway the average was 24), I've supplied individual "plane-in-grope" numbers for 36 aircraft, although only 28 are activated in the numbers.lst. These "modex" numbers are in the as-specified black, although research has indicated some squadrons may have used white (ie: Yorktown at Midway). This will in no way detract from it's usage. Aircraft type name and BuNum decals are also supplied; actual -4 serial numbers - it can probably be safely assumed these WERE used on combat aircraft.

As expected, the usual readme with all the necessary instructions for installation is supplied ... this is a pretty straight-forward skin install, nothing fancy here This time....

    12. D3A "Val" Battle of Midway Air Groups

Aichi D3A "Val" Carrier Air Groups Skin Pak -- For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO installs

This package contains a set of NEW skins for Pasko's D3A "Val", IJN carrier based dive bomber.

These skins are as seen during the time frame of post-March 1942, up to June 1942 (ie: Midway)

The carrier dive bomber groups represented here are:

      Akagi
      Hiryu
      Kaga
      Soryu

as seen on the morning of 4 June, 1942, during the Battle of Midway. These are done in the later 'green' color, as research has shown that the IJN bombers (in this instance, Vals) had been repainted to more 'camo-ish' color just prior (and for some ships, just after) to the Battle of the Coral Sea, and obviously, Midway.

They are NOT 100% historical; there are a few certain liberties I've taken. In other words, some squadron and flight specific markings have NOT been created. Although simpler in execution, it does gaul my sense of propriety and my bent toward "as close to 100% accuracy as possible". Such is life! :(

(BTW: these are the same inis from the Pearl Habor Val Skin set, so you needn't re-install these inis, if you have the PH set)

The skin were created using the new template, based on the original skins, rezied to 1024, with all new panel and rivet lines; all new individual aircraft tail codes for 18-21 aircraft (depending on the ship) have also been supplied.

His Divine Imperial Majesty, the Emperor Himself has deemed it imperative you READ the enclosed readme to gain insight on the correct Installation Procedures ... the Consequences will be Dire if you do not....

    13. SBD-3 Dauntless, VB-3 Battle of Midway skin

SBD Dauntless, VB-3 USS Yorktown, Battle of Midway Skin - For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO Installs-
This is a skin set representing VB-3 aboard USS Yorktown, June 4, 1942 during the Battle of Midway.
Yorktown and Hornet used a slightly different numbering style than Enterprise; having the numbers aft of the fuselage star. This may be because a lot of these aircraft were possibly Lexingtion survivors (unlikely), or transfered over from Saratoga as she had returned to Bremerton for repairs.

It's a standard non-specular blue over gray, with the "modex" or plane-in-group numbers in black. Aircraft type name and BuNum decals are also included.
It's pretty much standard for the time; it was transitional period just after the ordered removal of the VERY disliked enlarged star w/meatball and the 13 red and white rudder stripes. Due to the extingincies of war, I'd think getting the numbers placed and painted properly was NOT a high-priority item <wink>

A pretty easy to follow install sequence is in the enclosed read me. It dosen't even need decoding, as it's in plain language, NOT JN-25

    14. SBD-3 Dauntless, VS-8 Battle of Midway

SBD Dauntless, VS-8 USS Hornet, Battle of Midway Skin set - For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO Installs-
This is a skin set representing VS-8 aboard USS Hornet, June 4, 1942 during the Battle of Midway.
Yorktown and Hornet used a slightly different numbering style than Enterprise; having the numbers aft of the fuselage star.

It's a standard non-specular blue over gray, with the "modex" or plane-in-group numbers in white. Aircraft type name and BuNum decals are also included.
It's pretty much standard for the time, with the exception of the lettering being aft of the fuselage star

You use it in these

*yes, I know that both VB-8 and VS-8 never found the Carrier Striking Force, but hey, why not have the skins for the OTHER attacks they participated in, humm???*

Simple, easy to follow instructions in the enclosed readme. You know the drill....

    15. Westland Whirlwind - Desert Camo No.6 Squadron

This is a fictional Desert Camo scheme for the Westland Whirlwind recently released by Veltro2K with markings for the famous No.6 squadron ('The Flying Can-Openers') of the Royal Air Force. For SFP1/SFG/WOV/WOE/WOI just drop the folder called '6d' into your Whirlwind folder and go and open some cans! For SF2 users things are a bit more tricky but you probably know your way around the different file structure by now. BTW the Whirlwind flies really nicely in SF2 but make sure you've got your throttle to zero before you start!

Anyway, many thanks to Veltro2K for this little gem and also to Syrinx for the template and for the serial number decals - to which I've added another two to make a baker's dozen plus I've knocked up some reasonably authentic squadron codes.

    16. Vought F4U-5 Corsair, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña

Vought F4U-5 Corsair, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña (Honduran Air Force) for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and probably SF2

-Part of an on-going series of mods recreating Central American Airpower

This is a modification of The Mirage Factory's F4U-7 (French Navy version), into the earlier, and almost identical (albiet modified), F4U-5 version as used by the Honduran Air Force in the 1950s and 60s. This mod is VERY similiar to the Korean Era F4U-4B mod I released in 2008.

This pak contains -almost- everything you'll need to create this new version, minus a few critical files that you'll need to copy from the original F4U-7. So you MUST have the -7 somewhere to copy them from. If not, you can download it from Check6 (TMF Home Site), Column5 or CombatAce

This is to be considered as an "incomplete" aircraft mod, due to the non-inclusion of certain files. I've NOT included the aircraft LOD files nor the cockpit folder. See below "To Install" for a complete list of the necessary parts.

I've included all the inis I've modified, so you'll be copying the minimum number of bits. You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the weapons in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, and in EACH weapons folder is a _data.ini as used by SF2. Unfortunately, as I don't have SF2, some experimentation on your part will be required to install and get them up and running.

The skins are "pieces parts", dejumbled together from the stock ones that came with the aircraft when released. New, historical individual number decals are included. The numbers.lst, while included, is NOT active, to prevent 'running out of numbers in game'. It's just renamed, so it's easy to reactiveate it.

This mod is designed for use with the, I'm hoping, ANY weapons pak. You may just need to add a few things.

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft has been tested in Post-Patch SF/WoV/WoE/WoI. Be advised of the existence of some handling issues prevelant in WW2 era aircraft. Fly accordingly!!! It should also work in SF2 and later iterations - this has NOT been tested, however.(as I ain't got it!)

PLEASE read the enclosed readme for FULL, detailed install instructions!! It's Important!!

      Enjoy!

    17. NAA P-51D Mustang, Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña

NAA P-51D Mustang, Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña (El Salvador Air Force) for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and probably SF2

-Part of an on-going series of mod recreating Central American Airpower

Modifications, and a complete reskin of Wolf257s P-51D Mustang into those as used by the El Salvadoran Air Force.
This is a SEMI-COMPLETE aircraft mod, as per Wolf's wishes, the aircraft LOD is NOT included. However, EVERYTHING else is; cockpit, inis, skin, decals and so forth.

The skins, from my "enhanced" template, have my patented "interperative" panel, rivet lines and other details.New decals for the individual aircraft are from historical listings. The numbers.lst, while included, is NOT active, to prevent 'running out of numbers in game'. It's just renamed, so it's easy to reactiveate it.
The camo pattern, also is "interperative" at best. Much conflicting data exists as to how and with what colors the FAS painted their Mustangs, as well as the pattern used. This should be considered a 'generic' style, blending what data I could find into something reasonably passable (or as they used to say, 'reasonable facsimile thereof) the schemes as used.

You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the weapons WW2 style weapons are included in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, -and- in EACH weapons folder is a ***_data.ini as used by SF2. Unfortunately, as I don't have SF2, some experimentation on your part will be required to install and get them up and running. (meaning, I'm not sure how the numberation runs...)

This mod is designed for use with, I'm hoping, ANY weapons pak. You may just need to add a few things.

= IMPORTANT: This aircraft has been tested in Post-Patch SF/WoV/WoE/WoI. Be advised of the existence of some handling issues prevelant in WW2 era and many Pre-Patch (ie: 06 level) aircraft. =MORE IMPORTANT: You =MUST= have Wolf's WW2 Planes Pak to get the LOD from. It is NOT included!!=

As per usual, there's a nice readme involved with installation, so give a look at, please!

    22. SBD-2/3 Daunless, VS-6, USS Enterprise, Pearl Harbor

SBD-3 Dauntless Skin, VS-6, USS Enterprise; for SF/WoV/WoE PTO installs

"Pearl Harbor Defenders" - American Bombers

This skin and Ini Update Pak for Wolf257's SBD Dauntless dive bomber represents VS-6 (Scouting Squadron 6) as based aboard USS Enterprise in December, 1941.

Coloring and Decals represent the standard type markings as seen on Naval/Marine aircraft of the time, and include NEW BuNums and aircraft type name on the tail. BuNums are accurate, as they ARE from -2 & -3 Dauntless', but my research has only turned up 6 actual numbers as used by VS-6 that day. Unfortunately, they are the aircraft that were lost...
A new decal is also used for the arrestor hook; it finally gets some color :)

Ini mods include (yes, yet again!) some small lighting corrections from my pervious release of several years ago, modification of the StartYear; I've made it earlier, and the addition of a seat for the pilot to 'park it' on. The cockpit ini has a replacement 'ring-and-bead' type sight that is closer to the reticle in the (then) standard telescopic site used on all the early model (up until the -5 variant) Dauntless.
