  1. SF2 WW2 Spitfire Mk.VIII, RAF, CBI by Mod Mafia/TMF

    SF2 WW2 Spitfire Mk.VIII, RAF, CBI by Mod Mafia/TMF 12/15/2013

    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

    - For WW2 CBI Usage =ONLY!= -

*Note: There is a distinct possibility that this mod MAY work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs.
However, some data ini statements will not be in effect in 1stGen SF/Wo* at any patch level (with the possible exception of WoI plus it's ExpansionPak -this has not been tested, as I ONLY mod for SF2). It is designed for use in SF2, at the most current patch level. Your milage will vary!*

*Note2: it's RECCOMENDED you have whichever SF2 Expansion pak that gave us the Spit 9s. This mod references that destroyed model for it's own use*

This is a reskin/redecalling of the TMF Mk.VIII Spit for use by the Royal Air Force in the China/Burma/India (although, truthfully, only in India and Burma!). However, in the case of simplifying installation, this is the FULL aircraft. This makes is easier.

    Skin/Decals set included is for:

No. 81 Squadron, RAF as delivered in 1943

The aircraft is finished in standard SEA Scheme (Dark Green/Dark Earth/Lt Grey unders).
The skin is in jpg format, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. It reuses the SF2 version of the 'box art' hangar screen as originally issued with the RAAF Spit 8.

All markings are decals (excepting National Markings, these are painted on); making it supremely easy to recreate other squadron users. Serial numbers are for Mk.VIIIs, but should be considered 'generic' in nature.

This is a (semi) "nationalized" version, for RAF Burma/India use =ONLY=. Meaning: for a CBI-centric mods folder. All weapons, sounds, pilot figure(s) (including the 'fake pilot') are included.
The Canopy opens with the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0
    Damage textures are DDS.

When 'in game', you'll see "Spitfire Mk.VIII (TMF) B/I" in the aircraft selection drop-down window. This will diferentiate it from any other Mk.VIIIs you may (or may not) have .

As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please -READ- them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth.

    Good Hunting!

  8. SF2 WW2 Spitfire Mk.1A by Mod Mafia/TMF

    SF2 WW2 Spitfire Mk.1A by Mod Mafia/TMF

    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: There is a distinct possibility that this mod may not work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at any patch level, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. End Users ™ that attempt to do so, do so at their own risk.*

A brand "new" model that was never completed when Bpao passed away a few year back. I've been fortunate enough to be allowed to complete his work, as a member of the Mod Mafia.

This is the Vickers/Supermarine Spitfire Mk.1A. This pak contains skins/decal sets for the following RAF Squadrons:

    No. 41
    No. 54
    No. 92
    No. 610

in their 'Battle of Britain' livery. National markings are painted on, and all the aircraft use a 'pool' of indvidual call letters (A,B,C, etc) and serial numbers (all historiclly Mk.1s). Each has the Squadron letters (DW, EB, QJ, etc) also as decals. This will make it easier for other squadrons to be created by simply making new 2-digit Squadron letters. There is a blank bmp called "DW" in the 41 Squadron decals folder that can be resued for this. Those that know how, can duplicate my work quite easily.

All skins are in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE. A new SF2 version of the original 'box art' hangar and loading screens are included. Damage textures are dds format. A 'destroyed.lod' is included, taken from the WW2 terrains (its used for destroyed statics). Those with SF2I Expansion Pak1 can easliy switch to the 3W destroyed Spit lod.
The canopy/entry door open with the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0. For those RAF Squadron listed in the game's SquadronList.ini, my 'fake sqtail' decal will activate their "Displayed Name" on the LoadoutScreen.

When 'in game', you'll see "Spitfire Mk.1A (TMF)" on the aircraft drop-down selection window. This will differentiate it from any other Mk.1s you may have. The Official Squadron Crest ™ is used for the 'paint chip' for each skin.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please READ them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth.

  10. SF2 WW2 ETO Photo-Recon Spitfires Pak

    SF2 WW2 ETO Photo-Recon Spitfires Pak 7/28/2013

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

    = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

**SF2:E Expansion Pak 2 =REQUIRED= to get the Spitfire 9c**

This pak contains 2 versions of Photo Recon Spitfires as used in the ETO in WW2. By inference, the PR.XI may also have been used in other theatres, MTO and/or PTO (CBI), but research has not turned up any confirmations of CBI usage.

    Inside you'll find:

    Spitfire FR.IXC (based on the 3W 9c)

    Spitfire PR.XI (based on TMF/MM Mk.VIII)

The PR.XI comes with 2 skins, one tagged (genericlly) for 1 PRU squadron, although research has shown they were also used by No.541 and/or No. 542 Squadrons. The other for the 17th PRS, 7th PRG of the US 8th AF. Serial numbers for the AAF skin are 100% historically accurate.

The 2 RAF skins serials are more 'generic' in nature. All aircraft are finished in PRU Blue (FS matched as close as possible).
The PR.IX uses all decals for marking; the PR.XI has the national markings painted on, but serials are decals.

In game, on the Aircraft Selection Drop-Down you'll them listed as:

    Spitfire FR.IX (3W)

    Spitfire PR Mk.XI (TMF)

This will diferentiate them for any/all other PR Spitfire that may exist.

The FR.IXC, by it's very name, retains all it's fighter armament, and 'carries' only the the single oblique camera. The PR.XI is completly unarmed, but retains (non-historically) it's cockpit gunsight.

The canopy is activated via the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0
Weapons (drop tanks), pilot figures (included 'fake pilot' center pylon for the PR.XI) and the AvHistory Merlin sound are included.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

    Happy Landings!!

  11. Seafire MkIII (Modified), Irish Air Corps

Seafire MkIII (Modified), No.1 Sqn, Irish Air Corps, 1947 - 1955

    Completely new version.

The Irish Air Corps bought 12 Seafires in 1947; these were denavalised by removing the 'hook' and at least in most cases, locking the wing-fold joints. They were numbered from 146 to 157. There is still considerable debate among the Irish aviation historians as to the precise colour used; they were clearly painted overall with a greenish-grey shade, possibly MAP Light Slate Grey. No detailled information is available.

I have included the serials for the 6 Spitfire T.MkIX aircraft also acquired by the Irish Air Corps, in order to make up a suitable minimum number of decals. These go from 158 to 163.

For use ONLY with SF2 including the Israel Expansion Pack. This will NOT work if you do not have the stock TW Spitfires installed and working.

  12. Spitfire MkVb, VCS-7, US Navy, June 1944

    Spitfire MkVb, VCS-7, US Navy, 5th - 26th June 1944.

Because of the high vulnerability of the SOC and OS2U spotter aircraft normally carried on board US Navy cruisers and battleships, it was felt that naval artillery spotters during the landings in Normandy would need aircraft better able to defend themselves against German fighters. As a result, 17 pilots were drawn from the cruisers CA 31 Augusta, CA 37 Tuscaloosa, CA 71 Quincy and the battleships BB 33 Arkansas, BB 35 Texas and BB 36 Nevada; they were affected to the Air Spotting Pool, based at RNAS Lee-on-Solent, along with two RAF Spitfire squadrons, Nos. 26 and 63, and four FAA Seafire squadrons, Nos.808, 885, 886 and 897.

    VCS-7 became operational on 28th May 1944.

During operations, all aircraft were pooled, which meant that in fact, any pilot from any of the seven Spitfire/Seafire units could find himself flying any Spitfire or Seafire available, regardless of any theoretical 'ownership'. As a rule, aircraft operated in pairs, one spotting, the other covering.

After three weeks of highly successful operations, VCS-7 was stood down on 26th June as the fighting moved beyond the range of the ships' guns.

As they were on temporary loan from the RAF, all the aircraft used by VCS-7 retained their RAF markings.

For use ONLY with SF2 including the Israel Expansion Pack. This will NOT work if you do not have the stock TW Spitfires installed and working.

  14. Seafire MkIII, No.887 NAS, Fleet Air Arm, 1945

Seafire MkIII, No.887 Naval Air Squadron Fleet Air Arm, HMS Indefatigable, Okinawa, April 1945 - Japanese Coast, August 1945.

It is a little known fact that aircraft of the Royal Navy British Pacific Fleet fought at Okinawa and participated in the final air attacks on the Japanese mainland.

All serial numbers included in this package correspond to Seafire MkIII aircraft which served with 887 NAS at some point between late 1944 and the end of the War. Where possible, known individual numbers have been allocated to the correct aircraft. These are marked with an asterisk in the loadout menu.

Alternative lower resolution (1024x1024) skin files are included.

For use ONLY with SF2 including the Israel Expansion Pack. This will NOT work if you do not have the stock TW Spitfires installed and working.
