debmalya Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 the way things are going we might need a Venezuela map....
+Flanker562 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Even if it happens, it'll be a while before one appears though. I'm no terrain maker, but it's not like it's a quick thing too.
debmalya Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 there is Youtuber , based in Caracas Venezuela , who makes a lot of sf2 videos on youtube .
debmalya Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 i think its called the Jetfighter good channel , makes a lot of videos on classic flightsims /as well as SF2/il2 1946 always enjoy seeing the history of games , how fast they have evolved i wonder how many years we will be able to play these classic sims (SF2 and il2 1946 ) we are still watching classic movies from 70 years back...
+Flanker562 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Oh yeah... I followed that account, then stopped because i wasn't paying much attention to it. Yeah I hear you, but there's a point where it's also time to move on, but with Arma 4 coming out in over a year I may stick with Arma 3 depending on what happens. But that's about as far as I'll go, I usually look for something new. I mean DCS is Old too, but it's updated. SF2 will remain a popular game, but yeah...
+Menrva Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 I had a terrain of Venezuela in the works some years ago, made a quick beta for fellow modder angelp long ago. I currently don't have time to work on it. I'd dislike to make it now based on current world events.
+Gepard Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 There is a simple rule in the SF world: If you want that something is done, do it yourself. Here you find some lessons, how to create a terrain : https://combatace.com/forums/forum/191-modding-terrainsenviroments/ It is not as difficult as cutting an atom into pieces, but it need time. 3
+Wrench Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 Quote but it need time and paitence, and an inordinate amount of time in research. But the end product, is worth it.
debmalya Posted November 7, 2025 Author Posted November 7, 2025 OF COURSE , IF ONE TRIES TO MAKE ANYTHING THE SKILL/EFFORT OF THE MODDERS BECOMES EVEN MORE APPARENT THE HORN OF AFRICA TERRAIN (BY MENRVA ? ) IS FANTASTIC (PERHAPS SF3 SHOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE THIS )
