citizen67 Posted Friday at 01:05 PM Posted Friday at 01:05 PM Hi everyone, I do like strike missions but I have to be honest: I'm not so skilled in bombing without the help of CCIP (or using LGBs)... The bombs often fall too far or too short and I haven't yet mastered an effective technique to hit the target. So I wondered if it's possible to "expand" the target area on the map and have a Mission accomplished. RTB message even if you don't hit THAT single fuel tank or barracks, but the larger area that contains the target. Like what happens in other simulators or, I guess, in real combat mission. Thank you
+Gepard Posted Friday at 02:05 PM Posted Friday at 02:05 PM In strike missions you have to destroy the object, which the game engine gives you as target. The size of the object is defined by the shape of the object. This cant be changed by simple ini eding. 1

Thank you if you download The Range/Red Range you can do unopposed strike missions (and a few other, if I remember correctly) and practice weapon delivery. I've been playing for years, but sometimes just bombing targets on a range of it's own is very nice when you don't want to be bothered honing your techniques and such. 1

You're right, but then when I fly to other terrain (especially in Vietnam) with people shooting SAM at me, everything I learn at the range becomes useless What I was wondering was whether it was possible to define a group of objects as target, instead of just one. A group of fuel tanks, or barracks... For example: if there are 20 barracks and I hit two or three next to what the game considers the ONLY objective, it would be nice if the mission was considered accomplished... 1

I mean fair point, but you have to push that aside, the SA-2 isn't what is called a maneuverable SAM. I mean it's a chance but I trained for 15 years in the Army, and it boils down to nerves. I got shot at by people, in Iraq and Afghanistan, so I know what it's like to fire under pressure and so on. Sure flying is different, But overall the main threat isn't so much the SAMs, but the AAA and so on, not so much an SA-2, which if you just maneuver, you'll throw it off. But you just gotta work under the pressure and so on, so good luck though. 1
+Wrench Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Is this in the right Forum?? Is the question related to 1stGens??? Just wondering, 'cause if its for SF2, I'll be glad to move to The Right Place (tm). =========== To answer the question; No. Like Gepard said, the game assigns ONLY one target per mission. Now, OTH, it don't mean you can't bomb the shit everything around it. As for The Range, there's nothing like practicing The Craft of Putting Iron On Target withOUT all the Bad Guys shooting at you. They why we built those terrains. And upgraded them innumerable times (NOW!! With Water Features for your Anti-Shipping needs) 1
