A quick and easy solution of the problem of attack drones like the Shahed 136 or the ukrainian FP-1 would be to build fighters in WW2 style. Take a plane like the Mustang or the Spitfire or the Yak-9, which have enough firepower to kill a lot of drones during one mission. They are able to fly at low speeds and low altitutes. For night combat gives them NVG for their pilots. And the drones would have a hard time.

Ukraine does use a number of interceptor Drones like the P1-sun against Shahed type drones.

Or for US forces....

we could use what we got. these two pullin a CAP on the likely axis of attack can carry 84 APKWS at 35 grand a pop, each one cheaper than the Winders in pic. at $2,900,000 for total munitions on the sortie thats cheaper than one PAC3 missile. but with a likely oppurtunity to kill 50-60 (conservative estimate) rather than 1. plus of course the option of "switching to guns..."
