ive seen devin horner and other youtubers do it in their videos, but im curious how they do it, my first thougth is to literally move the plane into the hangar from the runway, but is there any mod or trick to do it?

Not really, it's only possible through scripted/manually created missions, but the game doesn't really support this feature and it is not possible to add it otherwise. More details here:

i would think that it could be done through heavy ini edits, similar to how formation take offs can be done from a runway. i have included that for pairs takeoffs (on the runway) from Ramstein AB with a particular F-4 mod

the catch is that you will need to do it for EVERY airbase you intend to take off from. and do some trial and error to get them placed right. and remember to have slots for upto  4 aircraft  when you edit it, unless you want the second pair of your flight crashing because they are trying to form up with you in the air over the taxiway

is it possible? i would say certainly. is it more trouble than its worth? well, thats up to you. however, i'd take notice that nobody's really done it since the gen 1 days

Menrva's link will also be quite useful, if you really want ot go down that rabbit hole

The AI is not capable of starting from the hangars, so no, this is not achievable. Only what I linked in the post above is doable, but even that brings its own set of issues and limitations.

stock hangars, no. i remember discussions a few years back about making hangars that could have parked aircraft inside, playing with the collisions. i dont believe anyhthing actually came of that discussion

but i would say that nothings impossible. what i discussed was more for ramp starts, which are more realistic anyhow

just because it is possible however, doesnt mean everyone or even anyone wants to take the time to actually make it reality

mythbusters rating : Plausible

I have seen supplied single missions in YAP-RW start you off on the ramp but as mentioned before these are highly customized SINGLE missions. It is a very effective technique to add a bit more realism to the mission but it's a real pain to do. I appreciate the mission designers taking the time and effort to do so.

For campaign and generated single missions I guess we're stuck with "In the air, near target" and "On the ground, at home base".
