Are they still testing it?

That was their entry for the JSF/F-35 but it lost out to the Lockheed proposal.

The two airframe's haven't been destroyed. One's on display at Patuxent River Naval Air Museum and Boeing is said to have the other, not sure where, for systems trials and static testing. I'm not even sure it's air worthy. The word going around was that Nasa Dryden was going to pick up a copy but there hasn't been a whole lot of movement.

It would be good to have a model of that ugly looking plane! In my experiecne, the ugly ones are usually enjoyable to fly and prove quite usefull (I site aircraft like the A-6 Intruder, A-7 Corsair II and the Phantom as examples of this)

You have a point about the value of ugly planes (SLUF, A-6), but bite your tongue for saying the F-4 was ugly!

so would anyone like to make it for SFP1

It would be good but I wouldn't hold my breath. You'll see the F-35 long before the F-32. It'd be a shame, I reckon it'd be a good ride. To the Best of my knowledge, the only game I've seen the X-32 in was Ace Combat 3 under the designation F/A-32 Ernie ( I guess coz the F-35 Bert lost out in that alternate future )

As for the F-22 model, check out the W.I.P. links in the WoE/WoV/Project-1 Mods & Skinning Chat

Here's a headstart:

You all forgotten about 'JSF'? That game featured both experimental types. Wasn't much cop though, EF2000 and ADF/TAW blew it away. Yes, I have a long memory :slow(en):

IMO despite all the technical merit the Boeing airframe displayed, it never stood a chance of being the chosen one because those doing the choosing were Pilots, and thus very sensitive to their own image being impaired when identified with the flying guppy-fish

As goes the old saying - "If it looks right..." But it never did. :sorry:

Incidentally, is there a SF Eurofighter Typhoon in progress anywhere?

Forgot JSF? Hell no! I still remember the night vision option, the terrain countour overlay, the infinite weapons and even the self guiding rounds  You're right about EF2000 though, that definitely did blow it away, dam good sim for the time.
