Madmalamute Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I'm trying ton make the MIG-25PU into a kinda pseudo MIG-31 my adding some missle rails to the underside fuselage, but so far nothing I've tried has worked...any thoughts. I did manage to add a gun though...boy that B-52 got a rude wake up call !!! Thanks!!! Quote

I think the 3D model would need to be redone - new pylons could probably be added into the data.ini but I dont think anything would show up in the game. Someone was making an actual Mig-31 sometime back - assume its still a WIP? Quote

Thanks anyway Veltro2K was working on a MiG-31 model, months ago, until he suffered a hdd crash and lost the original model. Lexx_Luthor Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Forget the pylons. You never see them during gameplay at these combat speeds. I wipped up a MiG Ye-152M using THE PASKO Su-11 model with some Tornado drop tank "weapons" making the fat fuselage spine. The MiG had a centerline drop tank, the Su had twin under belly tanks on either side of centerline. So I got two pylons on either side of where there should be one pylon. I didn't bat one eyelash over it (don't have R-80 missiles either). Just hang the rockets on the belly at the correct position. Quote

It's a quick fix I discovered almost a year & 1/2 ago, that solves several problems with some of the non-functional avioncs pods (in particular, the Skyhawk humps, 17PFU Izumrud radar pod, F-82 radar pod, the F-6 pylons, and host of others) It forces the game engine to load them everytime, and with a jamming strength of 0 or 1, hurts nothing and costs nothing. As to adding a hardpoint, there's absolutely nothing too it. You just need the entries in the relevant sections of the data ini (ie: if it's a wing station, on the right or left wing), and then the call out in the Weapons Stations section. How ya think I got HVARs to mount on the F4U-1D, when they didn't have any (or, an actual -1D for that matter!) Isn't there something in the KB about editing hardpoints???? Maybe we can talk Lexx into posting a few screenies of his experimental MiG...I seem to remember seeing them over the 3rd Wire boards.... It DOES look kinda cool! I finally found out what i did, i had copied and pasted on the fuselage systems and had two station 13s...woopsie... Sorry about being a pain in the backside... Quote
