Fubar512 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 This "wall" has nothing whatsoever to do with Pink Floyd, either... Quote
+Dave Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 And it isn't called "The Wall" for nothing. By far one of the nastiest SAM's in the world. It'll kill yeah dead..... Quote
gerald14 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 There is now escape !!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Quote
gerald14 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 LOL If you mean really low like under 300 feet Muah Quote
EricJ Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 LOLIf you mean really low like under 300 feet Muah 25m it's harrowing, but doable, but also something not for the faint hearted either.. Quote
Fubar512 Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Since I generally set up SAM sites with layered defenses, that may not be a viable alternative. Everything from mobile SA-8s/9s/Tunguska's and ZSU-23/4s are waiting for someone to ingress at low-level Quote
gerald14 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 If the sams don't get ya the anti aircraft guns will!!!!! Remember the Viet man War ????? Quote
jtin Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Maybe 5 feet at 600 knots would work. Then again, it might be better to try to dodge the SAM. Quote

gerald14 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Really because I was a M1A1 driver during the First Gulf War and It was fun!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Fubar512 Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 An interesting story: I recently flew a sweep mission in WoE's F-15A (to which I've added SF's desert terrain w/Polak's tile set, just for grins and giggles), and encountered a flight of new & improved MiG-29As*. To make a long story short, after an almost 20 minute engagement, I was the only member of my flight left, and found myself out of missiles with two MiGs to deal with. I eventually gunned one down, and went after the other, realizing only after I had it in my sights that I was out of ammo, and counter measures! I disengaged, dove for the deck, and flew the 100 or so miles back to friendly airspace at 600+ knots and below 100 feet AGL. with an angry Fulcrum chasing me. He fired off all his Aphids and Alamos at me, but the combination of my speed and ludicrously low altitude helped spoof them. But he still had his gun. Eventually, I reached the border, where'd I'd located a string of Hawk batteries I owe the crew of "Hawk Battery Charlie" a round of drinks. * PS: I'm not at liberty to discuss the "new & improved" MiG-29A. The merge: Quote
Fubar512 Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Hey furbaris this a new terrain? XD sorry,my english is poor It's Polak's replacement terrain tiles for SF's desert terrain, and Gepard's Israel theatre. Quote
gerald14 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Mig-29 ................................ from the photo it look's like a new model or skin............... Quote
EricJ Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Really because I was a M1A1 driver during the First Gulf War and It was fun!!!!!!!!!!!! No because I'm a door kicker and got a tour in Iraq already, and about to do another one. That 1ID patch is on my right shoulder, so shut up. Anyways, I'd love to test it if you'd like Fubar Quote
