+suhsjake 11 Posted August 3, 2007 I just soloed for the first time today. Four landings at the airport. It was kind of different, not having an instructor at all.

MigBuster 2,884 Posted August 3, 2007 Well take care man - Are you learning to fly for fun or are you hoping to go onto faster things?
+drdoyo 2 Posted August 3, 2007 Congrats!! Keep going with it. I remember my first solo. Butterflies all the way to the runway, and a good runup to make sure all was well. Then I had to get on with it. Pompano Towar cleared me for takeoff, and I taxied out onto the active. As I pushed the throttle forward the butterflies went away . +Typhoid 231 Posted August 3, 2007 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Your first solo will always be with you no matter how many orbital missions you eventually make. A fantastic milestone! Is your shirt tacked up on the instructor's wall or do they still do that?
+suhsjake 11 Posted August 3, 2007 Funny thing about the shirt. I didn't let them cut my shirt up cause my mom just bought it, so I promised I'd give them another shirt. LOL.

FastCargo 412 Posted August 4, 2007 Yuba County I know exactly where that field is! I used to fly out of Beale AFB from 1999-2001, so I know that area pretty well. In fact, they've had airshows there, haven't they? EDIT: They have had airshows there...I did a flyby sometime while I was there at Beale.... Anyway, congrats again! ezlead 42 Posted August 6, 2007 Way to go!!! You will never think about flying and aircraft the same as you used to. It will bring a whole new world into your FltSims. I had mine over 30 years ago and I still remember most of it. You will never forget it. NAS Saufley Fld,near Pensacola,Fla. had a lot of shirttails hanging on the walls. Well Done, and don't forget to"Check Your Six".
