the good guys strike back

Recommended Posts

Thats one little battle in a Giant war , unfortunately :(

Chavez in power is a Problem, he can now commite a sequence of mistakes and "unthinked" atitudes (and this is the problem)

He´s style is impositing force over anywone, anywhere at any time...and thats not good in a person, particulary with totalitary tendences.

He is Arming the civil population and i think, he will make a enemy in the south american(probably Colombia, Peru, or a power demonstration agains Guiana), you know, a common enemy can unificate a divided country(as you can see with Pakistain).

i think the Things will gonna hot here in the south hemsphere...i hope no, but using the History and strategy ,you can imagine what goes to come...

recently he said :If USA dont stop to influentiate Venezoela`s peoples in this elections, the Oil exportations will be cutted for USA.

Without going to deep, cause I'm in the work now, and IMHO. I think it will be very difficult Chavez make a big clash with the USA. The reason is simple, he will stay on power while have enogh money and the major buyer of Venezuela oil is just the USA. Start a conflict with Colombia will put him in direct collision route with USA too. Maybe going over Guiana is an option, but it will probably rise up the opinion of the rest of the world against him, and some kind of embargoes from UN. The great risk in this case is he's anoying someone until this someone start a conflict, wich could legimate his intentions.

But, IMHO again, the greatest risk is the bunch of pseudo-leaders that are rulling the SA countries today and look with shiny eyes for his bloat. At last, it's much more easy to put the guilty of social problems in the rich countries than recognizes the self incompetence.

Sure, but i Chavez can be a Clown, but he have Oil and suficient money to start one war(can be a non-sens, but i expect evrything coming from him.), only for stay on power, in the ultimate case, i think he can put venezuela in a Civil war(like i said before, he is giving military training to civil people! and and some AKs too, i dont remember the name, but is something about "Bolivarian resistance")

Just to fresh the peple minds...a lot o govrments, just enter in a war without sense to stay in power without popular consense.

Sadly, now that Castro's days are waning, it looks like this idiot will take the reins for the next 50 years. One could only hope for a populist uprising, with an ending befitting Ceausescu or Mussolini.

If he would just stop being a reactionary d*ck about some things, ie his anti-US stance (Okay, we get that there are elements of the US government/Business that are dubious!), he'd run into fewer and fewer hurdles in the future. But provoking the US in a slanging match is not going to end well for either side! I mean, not everything is bad. Higher education is free and support structures for students are pretty awesome compared to the here where something like 60%+ of university students are living at or below the poverty line.

But why does he have to go with the socialist crap again? I mean socialist policies, by their very definition, integrate very easily into democratic societies, but it looks as though he's harking back to the crappy "socialist" style that is essentially just an autocratic rule with the "socialist" label. I mean, controlling the media? That's weak...

...that said, he's very entertaining at UN conferences!

I hope he does arm and train his entire civil population.

It is a good thing for EVERYONE to be armed... better yet to be armed and trained.

If at least 51% of the population is against Chavez staying in power forever, that's 51% of the population capable of resisting a forced extenstion of his term, which is likely if he can't get the vote to go the way he wants it to.

If the US really wanted to put pressure on him, we would stop buying his oil and see how well his "socialist" intentions work without cash flow.

Probably about as well as the former Soviet Union worked without US grain imports.

As long as he isn't doing anything more than talking or harassing his own people, who cares what he does?

The main problem is that he seems to be aligning other countries into his way of thinking, which can be as bad for the US as Chavez having invaded and taken over such countries.

If the US ever figures out how to treat South American countries properly, maybe people like Chavez wouldn't be able to find allies or even come to power in the first place?

The US has spent too many years sending "diplomats" and "military advisors" to help remove/install/support governments with little concern for the people under those governments.

How many authoritarian dictatorships in South America has the US supported?

I am not talking about enlightened despots, but little Hitlers that killed/imprisoned/tortured anyone that opposed them.

Chavez and Castro pretty much represent Karma at work for the US.

But the situation in South America is far from being the fault of US influence...

No government can exist or function without the co-operation of the majority of the population.

Until the majority of people in South America accept responsibility for their governments, they will continue to be plagued with corruption and oppressive dictatorships.

Somehow, revolutions and/or "elections" in South America merely change who the dictator is rather than change the actual form of government.

But it is easy for me to sit here comfortably eating my fast food and watching HD TV while others have to deal with very bad conditions beyond their control and would have to risk their life and their family's lives if they want any change at all.

Fortunately for me, a lot of other people in the USA have already made and are still making the sacrifices necessary to give me the life I want.

Perhaps it's the American philosophy that "good enough isn't good enough!!" that makes us so eager to fight for what we believe, while in many countries it seems the people are afraid of rocking the boat and prefer to lay low until things get ridiculously bad.

Thats what separates the US from other countries. We aren't afraid to rock the boat. And we won't wait for it to get that bad.

EDIT BY ME: BLAH BLAH BLAH

Further edit:- Very well said Streakeagle. :good: But, there is one thing @#$% the School Of America's, it's founder's (just to be CLEAR that is directed at the sub-human's who came up with the idea of such an institution and NOT the American populace) and supporter's. Their hand's are just as bloody as the dictator's they "helped" put into power and their goon's.
