We (Czechoslovakia) have received Su-7BM/BKLs without periscopes on canopies. Periscopes were installed later. All new czechoslovak Su-7s were silver, and no one has periscope. As you can see on links, just camouflaged planes are equiped with periscope (both versions).

Su-7BKLs:

Another nice photos:

http://modelforum.upce.cz/forum/viewtopic....51&p=348666 (take a look on previous pages in the link too)

I understand you right Boopidoo about split canopy, I hope :blush:

There is no canopy frame like Su-15 pit(according to photos. For example here: http://modelforum.upce.cz/forum/download/f...&mode=view). Just periscope box.

Note about periscope:

We have just Su-7BM modelled (WOI Su-7BMK use Su-7BM.LODs I think. Correct me if I am wrong please). On SFP1/WOE Su-7BM model is not periscope modelled. And I see no way how import it to Su-7BM.LOD; So it is not needed in cockpit (maybe).

On the other hand, periscope was standard equipment later. So if it is possible integrate it to Su-7 cockpit, let' go do it, please. Maybe Paladrian will be willing share another Mig-21 cockpit part with us again :grin: I will try drop him PM about it. But I need your opinion Boopidoo too :yes:

To CA_Stary:

According to these photos is gunsight closer to pilot. So it looks like bigger, I think. It is just my opinion.

On second picture it is relatively close to control stick too.

I can't wait for cockpit photos :biggrin:

Ok, I have these things on the to-do list for the su-7:

- Fix SPO-10 text

- Change, remove, replace the radar panel lights

- Change, remove, replace the radar panel switch

- move gunsigt closer to pilot

- add periscope (only maybe)

Well, I am sorry guys, but we will have to wait till monday for the full set of photos of the SU-7 cockpit here from our museum. It will be photos of this aircraft:

http://airmuseum.aspdotnet.sk/images/su-7_5608_1.jpg

Hopefully I will be able to get cockpit photos of further aircraft for cockpit making purposes.

That would be great, thanks :good:

I'm specially interested in MiG-23/27 photos, if you have them at your museum

As for the periscope you can have it, but it would need remapping, and the canopy would need a hole (either in the texture or in the 3D model)... still want it?

I don't think the gunsight box needs to be moved up, but it does look rather small compared to the rest of the cockpit, I recommend instead scaling it up a bit, perhaps 10 or 20%

Hi Paladrian :yes:

You posted before I send you PM :biggrin: I am slowly :haha: Thank you :wink:

Thank you again for your willing share with us with your Mig-21MF periscope :good:

Boopidoo is project modder, so need wait for his reply about periscope instalation.

Thank you too for idea about gunsight proportions. It will be easier make it bigger than move it, I hope. Maybe some position edits in cockpit ini will be needed. We will se.

Thanks for interest :fans:

Boopidoo,

If you plan to add a periscope to the model, can it be removed later by doing some some ini changes? I ask this because, our Su-7BMKs ,during thier service with with the IAF, did not have a periscope installed.

Thank you for your willingness to add details and improve the pit :ok::clapping: .

Try this in Su-15 cockpit.ini

:

:

Instrument[125]=Move1

:

:

:

at the bottom of the file, add the following...

[Move1]

Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR

NodeName=radarBox

MovementType=POSITION_Z

Set[01].Position=-99

Set[01].Value=0.0

Set[02].Position=-99

Set[02].Value=1.0

This is one of first posts in this topic. Concretely Lexx_Luthors post and his idea, I think. I want just remind how we can move instruments out of sight via ini edit.

Well original ingame BM model is without periscope, and as ghostrider883 wrote, indian Su-7BMKs were without periscopes. And czechoslovak Su-7BM/BKLs were suplied without periscopes too. But as I wrote, periscopes were installed later. This means 3:1 for no periscope installation :biggrin:

My little dream is new Su-7BKL model with two brakeshutes on tail and skis on gear. And with periscope maybe :rolleyes:

We can edit exist BM model, I know. But no brakeschutes etc... And BKL can load special SPS-141 container designate special for Su-7. Maybe can load different SPS-141 version which can carry Su-22 too (I tried find some good info, but it is still secret... But model is finished by Fast Cargo).

Allright guys, I have the photos - I have still solve some issues with them, but soon will send them to the correct people. They could be a bit clearer, but I think they will serve well as reference for the planed minor modifications of the cockpit.

Boopi:

we also have a Su-15 in our museum, I will try to get a permission to take some photos of the cockpit:

When you take the photos use as high resolution as you can and don't lower the resolution afterwards. Good high resolution pictures are almost non-existant and are much needed.
