Actually my friend, you're close.

 

Joker = Prebriefed fuel state to knock off the current activity and proceed to the next one(ie stop CAP here and proceed to the tanker).

Bingo = Fuel state to proceed home in a straight line (usually at a predetermined altitude) and land with minimum fuel (ie we have to leave NOW)

Close, it means you're being 'lit up' by a radar...a variant is 'buddy spike' where someone on your side is lighting you up. Usually a call to warn whoever on your side to make DAMN sure what you're thinking about shooting... :).

And "rifle" means an air to ground missile has been fired...like the opposite of SAM launch...there is a whole lot more, but the game does not model that...and just for the record, NOBODY says "I've got your target"...

I thought "rifle" was specifically for Mavericks? "Magnum" is the call for HARMs.

Then when you launch AMRAAMs you get variations on "Fox 3" and sometimes even "pitbull."

I doubled checked it with the FM 1-02 just to be sure.

 

Magnum means that a friendly antiradiation missile has been fired (eg. AGM-88)

 

Pig means friendly glide weapon released (eg. JSOW)

 

Rifle means friendly air-to-surface missile launch (eg. AGM-65)

 

Then of course, there's always Miller Time.

Oh AMRAAMs are a bit more than that...

 

you have MAD DOG and HUSKY (cheap shot) and PIT BULL...then there is GIMBLE and SNIP IT

 

Before you do that, you may call BANZAI or SKATE or SHORT SKATE

 

Before you do any of that you call the GROUP, then your SORT, then...

 

Reference "BUDDY SPIKE" at LFE's you get a bit of RAYGUN also...especially if is not going to plan...maybe RED FLAG day 3...but then magically by the second week it is a thing of beauty

 

If its really a busy day...could hear SKOSH...but who cares if you have the -9X ?

 

 

Also, SPIKE is specifically a LOCK ON...NAILS means search mode...MUD / MUD SPIKE is obviously a ground based threat radar has you...

 

And, for the record, SPIKE is a request as much as an informative call...such that if you / your wingman calls SPIKE, then the other replies with either SPIKE, NAKED (nothing sees me) or NAILS

 

 

Now...unlike the game...if you are going to employ BVR...that is fire a lethal weapon with intent to kill at something you did not personally see...there is a lot of talking and work involved leading up to that point...and in any of the 3wire series, you would never employ BVR any way because I have NEVER heard RED CROWN label a group hostile...and if you determined that a group meets HOSTILE criteria per the ROE, then you call that on the radio first...
