Supermaneuverability

This is probably a noob question but does anyone know if any of the "modern era" aircraft are supermaneuverable? I've downloaded the F-22 but can't make it do backflips or Cobra's. Might be a piloting problem but I don't think I'm getting the high alpha seen in airshows.

The F-22 at the moment doesn't have the pitch linked thrust vectoring, so its actually rather castrated compared to the real one. At the moment it doesn't work properly in the sim, hopefully we'll see that fixed soon.

also try setting your flight model to normal or hard. Or just pretend to be supermanuverable while you blow down MiGs BVR.

What is wrong with it? Maybe I can teak on it. Not sure who did the original FM...

Those inputs will not work...you will not get any pitch up thrust vectoring.

The FM is not my work. I had declined the project when it was offered to me, as I was busy with a RL project at the time.

 

One of my other reasons that I gave at the time (and still stand by), was, that releasing the F-22 without proper thrust vectoring, would be akin to having released an F-111/MiG-23/F-14 (etc.), without variable sweep wings. BTW, Mike's first Raptor model, though a bit rough around the edges, did have working weps bays and gun flap doors.

And folks, let's clear some things up before people get confused.

 

1) There is no proper pitch linked thrust vectoring available at the moment. Now, if you want to use thrust vectoring using the separate manual control, that is possible...however, you will be very limited in either the up or down direction. The main reason is that the AI will fly with the thrust vectoring at one of the limits of travel.

 

2) Auto weapons doors seem to be hit or miss. I did EXTENSIVE tests on the F-35, using MAX and ini edits. The only thing I found consistent was that if the weapons were in the positive X axis (X coordinate at 0 or higher), the weapon auto door would work. Which is why Zur's Talon seems to work...all the weapons are on the centerline. Manually, the doors worked fine. Also, for jettison, the auto open function would work.

I'm still trying to trace it down...but I've tried damn near everything...every possibility just about. At least for missiles...haven't tried gravity weapons yet.
