Most Aircraft has been released as third party addons. And this is nice to see the real macoy in the campaigns and is easy to fix.

well.............

TK can't exactly use a third party mod in his pay for play flight sim.

however -

"someone" could come up with a comprehensive update to the campaign lists that include those third party mods..........

Well I'm currently working on my own WOV install right now as we speak, trying to match Third party skins and aircraft into the rolling thunder campaign matching squadrons and types of aircraft. if everything is going to be in one package it would be a HUUUUUGE download. Dont think it would be possible. Easykills highrez skins for the F-105D alone is 1.4 GB unpacked. It could be done by a modified data ini of the campaigns. But again that demands the end user to download everything him/herself.

I have the Razbam skyraiders package, so at one point I went and changed all the "stand-in" A-4's to AD-7's...

However, this doesn't really work because of the way the game assigns missions. If you have CAS mission in the WOV campagins (ie - my WOV ground war enhancement download), then most of the time those AD-7 squadrons would be tasked with CAS. But they still get tasked with strike missions occasionally, and while in real life they would be sent to hit soft, relatively un-defended targets in S. Vietnam and such, the game engine in all it's wisdom will still assign these squadrons to attack highly defended targets in the north. Then you can sit back and watch in wonder as the strike flight of 8 AD-7's you're flying Mig-CAP for attemps to strike a fuel tank at Noi Bai airflied and gets absolutely blow to simitherenes.

So, in the case of the skyraiders, I would recommend making one or two squadrons actually use skyraiders if you want to make them flyable for your own entertainment. If you get assigned to strike a target in N. Vietnam, hit exit and then select the campagin again until you get a more acceptable target/mission assignment (hint: if you change the squadron to CAS=100 and Armed_recon=100, you'll get one of those mission types almost evertime you select that campaign...).

But I wouldn't recommend changing all the squadrons with A-4's and F-100's standing in for Skyraiders to actually use skyraiders. You'll have a lot of decimated strike flights on your hands...

I don't want to scare either of you, but no WOV campaign would be complete without all the different paint jobs used by all those Navy units. The Sundowners are a good example of that. 4 Crusader versions (C/D/E/H), 5 or 6 (more or less) different paint jobs...

any update should also incorporate malibu's WOV ground war enhancement!!!!!

and Green Hell 2....... there is so many amazing mods to add, it almost make you dizzy

Malibu,

Glad to see you followed up on the ideas for the WOV campaign from last summer. Can you change the AD-7 data.ini so that it only flys CAS missions?
