+Hinchinbrooke Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Thinking about it, I have a Javelin sound file and will upload it, if anyone is interested. I contacted the RAF Museum at Hendon a couple of years ago, asking if they had any sound recordings of the Javelin. Apparently they don't (that was the response from the archive guy), but I did manage to locate a recording of Javelins passing over Farnborough from the late '50's (I think). Anyway, the Javelin had a very idiosyncratic sound. My sample ain't perfect (see '50's recording), but I'm prepared to rummage amongst my back-up files if people think it'll work.

Gunrunner Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Yep, you're right C5, IIRC only the FAW.9 ever received it in service, and even then, very few did and had a new designation in service, FAW.9® or something along these lines.
