Thinking about it, I have a Javelin sound file and will upload it, if anyone is interested. I contacted the RAF Museum at Hendon a couple of years ago, asking if they had any sound recordings of the Javelin. Apparently they don't (that was the response from the archive guy), but I did manage to locate a recording of Javelins passing over Farnborough from the late '50's (I think). Anyway, the Javelin had a very idiosyncratic sound. My sample ain't perfect (see '50's recording), but I'm prepared to rummage amongst my back-up files if people think it'll work.

Yep, you're right C5, IIRC only the FAW.9 ever received it in service, and even then, very few did and had a new designation in service, FAW.9® or something along these lines.
