B737-900ER Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Any recomendation? I would like to be able to multplayer. MS CFS2+3 were unimpressive. CFS1 is fun 2+3 were not. Quote
firehawkordy Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Any recomendation? I would like to be able to multplayer. MS CFS2+3 were unimpressive. CFS1 is fun 2+3 were not. A lot of guys I know play Il-2 it's successors. I'm not into WWII flight sims anymore but I know that this is one of the best out there. Quote
YASTREBOK Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Try IL-2 Sturmovik, you can't go wrong on that one. If you are not sure about it, you can always find the demo version on COMBATSIM. It represents the first version, but gives you a very good idea of the full game. The latest installment, IL-2 1946, regroups all previous versions. Compared with the sims you mentioned, and which I tried myself, I think it's fair to say that IL-2 simply blows them away in nearly every field. As for multiplayer you have Hyperlobby, which should keep you busy for some time ! Hope this was of any help to you. Quote
gumpy Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 IL2 1946 with mods is the only way to go and you can get those at All Aircraft Arcade :: Index Quote
B737-900ER Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 Thanks everyone the response is unanimous. Thanks again Quote
+Gepard Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Take the good old European Air War or Battle of Britain II. Quote
+Stary Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 BOB2 is the way to go, especially with 2.08 or 2.09 patches. Sturmovik (FB) has great variety of planes, nice scenery, but somehow plastic feel and cheating AI. Quote
B737-900ER Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Thanks again I'll check out BOB2 BOB2 is the way to go, especially with 2.08 or 2.09 patches. Sturmovik (FB) has great variety of planes, nice scenery, but somehow plastic feel and cheating AI. Quote
Sakai Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I'd have to go with IL2 '46 as well, for 20 - 30 bucks, it has a full mission builder, a quick misison builder, PLENTY of dynamic campaigns with the enjoyer patch, and multi-player. Can't beat it, i've played Janes WWII fighters, CFS1, EAW, and the Aces series by Dynamix back in the day. I LOVE WWII sims, and IL2 has stayed on my HD since the moment I bought it! Quote
JediMaster Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Since you talked about MP, I'll just mention that BoB2 has no multiplayer. If you want to fly online, Il-2 is the way to go. For offline, BoB2 is just as good. Quote
+ST0RM Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Sturmovik (FB) has great variety of planes, nice scenery, but somehow plastic feel and cheating AI. You aren't kidding about the AI! Quote
JediMaster Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Possibly the AI with the biggest BS factor in any flight sim EVER. Quote
Spinners Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Are we forgetting 'Blazing Angels' ? (Spinners runs for the nearest air raid shelter) Quote
JediMaster Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Not forgetting, omitting! BA is great fun on my 360, on the big screen with the gamepad. It is also WWII flight. It is not a sim. Quote
Spinners Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Whooooossshhhhh. Now you have a nice centre-parting.... Quote
