limited flight years for aircraft

Recommended Posts

For some reason my planes only have a 5 year window where they can fly. Even though the ini's list a much larger range of date's. For example My Su-27 has a start year of 1984 and an end year of 2010 or something. I can only fly it from 1984 to 1989. How do I change this?

Actually, I suspect his options.ini file is incorrect.

Well I know about the end and start years and how to mess with them. What the knowledge base doesn't cover is why it will only let me fly in a 5 year window.

I get 6 years, but this happens when the aircraft´service years aren´t from 1964 to 1973, ex:

F-14D: Service years,1991-2006; but I can only choose from 1991 to 1996

F-4B: 1964-1974 I can choose from 64 to 73 (the years the campaign takes place)

what in the options.ini do I need to change?

All the End years (or, even the start years, if you're into that).

Also in addition to editing that, I think also in the data.ini make sure it’s not exported. Change it to FALSE and it will affect the years it’s available too.

At the risk of sounding like Wrench, 'The Knowledgebase is your friend!'

I already said I tried that. It doesn't work for me.

I took Fubar's advice and changed all of the end years in the options.ini and now it works! Thanks for the help.

Try being nicer about it. Alot of noobs are coming in here asking the same questions over and over, when a simple search could find the answer, or some time in the KB. It get tiring answering the same questions.

So, for your problem:

Go into the options.ini in the root folder of the sim. Let's use WoE as an example. Open it with a text editor. Scroll down and look for 1989 as the end year. Change that to 2020 on each and every entry you find. Leave the start at 1965 or whatever it is, unless you want it to start earlier. Save and upon restarting the game, you should be good to fly to 2020, granted the aircraft you want has service dates that far out.

Understand?

I'm sorry I wasn't trying to come across as rude. It's just that several members already said try the knowledge base and I checked that before I made the thread. It seemed as if instead of helping everyone just wanted to send me to the knowledge base.

I was able to get it to work last night. Thanks for the help, now I can fly the aircraft during their full service lives.
