Managing to get around to working on the default skins that come with the package, working on some line birds and getting the tanks redone. First being the VFA-102 CAG tanks, with help of the SME of SidDogg, and here VFA-105:

Found a fixable error on the droptanks. Seems it's actually not actually level. Which really isn't too bad, but it's noticeable from the left and right for those who want things levelled out. Here's the actual droptank texture base with the black line used for lining things up on the sides of it. This can be used for also lining up decals. Simply convert the image below to .bmp

More update on the Rafale, contacted somebody to reduce the polys, now is 17k-18k and here's a render. Again if anybody wants to tackle this, I have it in .max format. Render below.

But really I'm not that good 3D modeler.

for a project so advanced and so smooth and perfect lines.

It was a gentle way to try to explain that it's somewhat difficult for me.

We could provide Usd 12.50 each.

And we bought half the Rafale

Um, I can upload mine. Max 6 format... I would assume that it needs to be scaled and properly animated... The one I have. It's bought, paid for... needs somebody to get it in the game. JAT81500 can do the other work, which I'm sure it's collecting on his hard drive, but it just needs importation. It has textures with it but not sure if its necessary for remapping.

 

And thanks Silverbolt, once I figured out how the droptanks were oriented it took some experimentation and looks how it might be :smile:

Got a buddy who likes to do paid 3d work, and this is my latest idea (okay not mine, it's a model done by Kevin Dallimore for the fiction Hammers Slammers). I really like this design so he's building it. Also looking for somebody who can obviously get it in game when finished:

Well through a good friend, I managed to get a hold of 3ds max... only problem is now the model above I exported with the right plugin, and no see no model. Something I'm forgetting? Because I do have it as a named selection (so far) and so far not sure what to do.

I work on very primitive shapes, but at the end all I do is export with the TW Plugin.

You got an Out and a Lod file right?

Do you mean you can't see it in-game, or in Max?

In game, I can see it fine in max...

 

And yes, I get both a .lod and .out files..

More texture tweaking for the SH. Pureblue has helped me understand a few things I'm missing, and looks like I have to take some time and really delve back into 3ds max... it's been so long but he's helped me with some pointers so hopefully I can get the calliope in game, someday..

 

Two weeks as usual, but all the "default" aircraft have the new exterior engine nozzle textures applied and once I get the internal textures done, I'll apply it to them as well.

More calliope news... with pureblue's help, figured out what the problem was, and contacted my modeler and seeing if he can't follow the guidelines set from the Max Exporter Notes (thanks pureblue :good:), and a texture test from him:

More work...

 

Course now the question is... pivot points? special animations? We got the notes but it still is unclear on how to make the turret rotate as well as the gun assembly.

It has a lot of shallow panels on the sides that you could just texture on by using max's render to texture function using a projection. Would save tons of polys.

True enough, but the biggest concern is getting the barrels to elevate and depress... kinda stuck on that one.
