exhausted Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I have Yefim Gordon's book on the Yak -38 and I'm very psyched about this plane. I have fun trying to balance the Harriers, but this seems like a such a challenge! Quote
mono27 Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 That book sounds interesting, it is about the Yakovlev's VTOL planes: Yak-36, Yak-38 and Yak-41. Quote
exhausted Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I hope I can be of some help. Here is a cockpit shot of the Yak-38 (left), and Yak-36M (right). A panel layout for -38 is on the bottom. It looks a lot like MiG-21 cockpit to me. Quote
+krizis Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 >Mono27 I guess I should thank you for regular upping this topic. BTW guys, I know about Gordon's book. I have it:) when games will have such graphics... Quote

+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 looks like mental ray rendering, model is for TK series Quote
Carlos_Tex Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I think it would be nice to have the famous Yak-38 Forger in SFP1 or WOE. This an interesting carrier based plane from the years of the Cold War. It is very famous and the only time I saw it in a flight sim was years ago in an old sim called "Birds of Prey" from 1991. I never saw this plane again in a sim. This plane was used by the Soviet Navy onboard the carriers Kiev and Minsk. Anybody knows if this plane is going to be released for WOE? or in the case that it already exists...where to find it? Here is a link to see this bird in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXDb-_ba7mI...iches/yak38.php PD: I heard that soon a Su-24 Fencer will be released, anybody knows anything about it? I played "Fleet Defender" 1994 a lot on my pc at the time and i remember i used to shoot down a lot of Forgers. Quote

Jeremiah Weed Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 TW=ThirdWire Pretty sure I meant that. TW/TK same difference. Quote
Guest a10boar Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 TW/TK same difference. Just for me?LOL!Merely was saying how great the graphics look in screenshot. Quote
Silverbolt Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Just for me?LOL!Merely was saying how great the graphics look in screenshot. well, its a render from 3ds program. Quote
+krizis Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I'm experimenting with rendering trying to enhance my skills. Some renders will be used as a hangar/loading screens, maybe in future projects. So, don't be surprised if you'll see something strange:) The good thing is that I was forced to buy additional 4GB of RAM to deal with such scenes. Full scene: Quote

mono27 Posted May 25, 2009 Author Posted May 25, 2009 Wow!! Krizis, every pics you post here in this topic are speechless. What a graphics!! Good work!! Yeah, I also remember that sim "Fleet Deffender" from 1994, I forgot to write it here, the "Forger" was also there...so I think that the Yak-38 appeared only in that two sims for the moment (Birds of Prey and Fleet Deffender). And soon...in Wings over Europe!! haha. Quote
mono27 Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Krizis, are you making it for use in WOE or WOI ?? I think it is better for WOE because the Yak-38 is a Cold War warrior, not a fighter from the Middle East, haha. But well, it is only a suggestion. Good work anyway!! Quote
mono27 Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 Any new about the project, Krizis? We don't have any new since more than a week ago. Quote
