Gave me a few horror stories about the cavernous intakes, one of a poor chap that got a little to close infront during preflight, crew couldnt see him from the cockpit and the engines were already running. BattlerBritain Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Looks good. Needs pods on the wingtips is the only thing I can see. Do the bomb bay doors open? They often fly with them open for some reason. Makes 'em look like crocs having a gape :)

+SkippyBing Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I think it's just the angle too, if it was the AEW the nose cone diameter would be larger than the fuselage's. A seriously bonkers idea, doomed by trying to fit so much electronics into the Nimrod's fuselage.

But the winner is definetly the Boeing EC-135B and N version. Those fuglies should have been blown up the very second they tried to get airborn. EDIT:- BTW great work Veltro. I remember speaking to him after it was cancelled in favour of AWACS and he said although he was disappointed for the company he couldn't argue with the decision. He had real look of relief on his face that they weren't going to get bogged down with a project that was going to haunt a lot of careers for a long time and probably never end up as what it was intended to be.
