Guest Eject Posted September 19, 2009 Thank u so much for the above. As a non-English-speaker, the list will help us a lot who are still learning the language. Perhaps, I am in the wrong side, yet; did you miss the "KISS" ? Keep It Simple S****d ? I heard someone said it long ago. An other, may I ask just one that I read several times here by some members, namely, the term "Lol!"? Is it similar to (excuse me) "Stupid!" ? If the answer is yes, both have same meaning, than it is really similar with our expression in Bahasa (=language) Indonesia; that is TOLOL! So, I find it funny that you English-speaking people have the same word with ours in Indonesia. There is also an other phrase, "Ran AMOOK" = AMUK in Indonesia. AMUK massal = rioting. meNGamuk (a verb)= go berserk. "Alas", we had not been occupied/colonialized by the Brits. For 350 YEARS the DUTCH had been occupying Indonesia. So, ou English-language proficiency is generally, I must say, just so so.....Have a nice weekend all. Bye, RTB now
JediMaster 451 Posted September 21, 2009 LOL = laugh out loud, and it is badly overused. In some cases, the person USING the "lol" might be called stupid, actually.

Caesar 305 Posted February 3, 2010 Eject, CTD is item #30 on Falcon Six-Two's list, but spelled out: CTD is "Crash To Desktop"; a situation where something goes wrong, either while loading or running a program, which causes it to cease functioning and kick you back to your desktop, (it also usually generate an error report). abyss 1 Posted December 15, 2011 Also very rarely used today, because to a vast degree, mechanical mechinism's featuring metal thicknesses measured in fractions of an inch, have been superceded by gauge, recently by plastic. Tighten it to Two Grunts, has been replaced by tighten it almost till it cracks . . . If it cracks, that means you tried to tighten it too much Hand tight is good enough when your life depends on it, not mine however
