Royal Romanian Air Force, anyone?

Recommended Posts

I don't usually use other people's templates, but Russo's for his Bf109E is an exception! there honestly isn't much to do apart from get on with the colour scheme... So, what about this - interested? One of the more exotic users of the 109E.

Very nice I remember I had a Pilot in the IL2 series flying a Romanian Plane but it was the I.A.R. 81 I think maybe wrong a few years have passed...

There's an IAR 80 and 81 in IL-2. Basically the same aircraft, just a question of hardpoints and weapons. There's one for SF, too, which I want to look at one day.

Lovely stuff! We really need an Eastern Front terrain.

No. There is no G-6 model available, and as on the F-4 the junction between three meshes is situated exactly where the cannon-breech bulges are, and the parts don't line up, that area is practically impossible to paint in any way other than with one solid colour. Drawing the bulges on and using shadowing and highlighting to give them some apparent volume might have been possible otherwise, but not on this model. Sorry.

Or, if we can get a 3d modler to make the bulges, they can be added via the 'fake pilot seat' method. The only problem with that, is color matching for splinter or mottle camo patterns

Looks interesting... Can you block up the lower canopy triangles at the same time?

(Romanian-built 109G-6s had very odd elongated breech bulges...) ;-)

Actually, Russ, are you feeling creative...? :swoon::rolleyes: That 109E of yours would be a great place to start! (No! Only kidding! No! Gerroff!)
