If I'm not mistaken that was the #2 engine failure during T/O at Dover AFB.

C-5s are amazing aircraft to see flying low in take-off/landing configurations.

Seeing something so large flying so slow.

I miss the original MAC colors (white over gray with a blue stripe between the two).

I know the C-5s have been overhauled quite a bit, but they have also done quite a few years/miles of flying.

I wonder how long they can keep going?

Obviously, this one's time ran out.

Can anyone say "spare parts"?

And we here at my unit, the 445th AW are still flying them everyday. Some how the spare parts always seem to show up.

That's because there are pilots that like to land there planes without lowering the landing gears. Dover!... cough, cough :wink:

It would be in the crash truck w/3% afff. If you look close you can see the plane is wet, it was probably already sprayed and the crash rig is just on standby until USAF and DOD investigaters get there.
