News for August 2009

Recommended Posts

Hi,

To sum up our current activities quickly in this post:

- Ariel is doing Rio Gallegos city

riogallegoscad.jpg

(tough task indeed - and it should look like it was in 1982)

and then will proceed to do the extremely important airport/airbase located there.

I'm doing the Learget 36 used by Escuadron Fenix as support aircraft in many A-4 Skyhawk attacks. Then I'll proceed to update A-4B cockpit to 2010 standards (I've done it in 2005/2006 if I remember well :))

Programming is optimizing terrain system for better loading times and then we'll start to see the whole campaign theather loading up (and finally with at least a very detailed and complete Rio Gallegos in the continent side).

Hopefully in next post I can add some screenshots of improved terrain system!

Cya! :)

What good news!

Honestly it takes me by surprise.

I'm very happy, not just because the game is progressing.

Also I live here in Rio Gallegos.

Less than 6 km from the airbase.

So if you need photos or data base on positions such as aircraft shelters or others.

Do not hesitate to contact me.

I leave some photos where it looks a little base.

Currently operating the IAI-FINGER , MIRAGE III,and sometimes we visit the A-4AR and some IA-63

Sorry to see only small pieces of the base.

It is with the material that story at this time.

Hi Suicidal,

No news yet in this topic, but I'm sure your photos and maps are very useful for Ariel's work in these parts of the content! Again, thank you very much for the support, and also thanks for the patience!

Hi there

I saw some movies about your upcoming Malvinas conflict jetsim. Very impressive. After seeing these and read more about the subject I landed here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you guys have been working on this project from 2004, is that correct ? Today we are in 2010. So 6 years of hard work and still more to come ? Hope I didn't bother anyone asking

Good luck in this project and I tell you, I can't wait to play this. I always wished a good Malvinas conflict SIM to be made ! Finally my prayers were answered. By the way what graphic engine does the game use ?

Yes, you're about right about the dates. Thanks for your message. :) We're using proprietary 3D engine developed from scratch, because flight sims have specific demands that generic engines can't cope (it also is one of the reasons development is taking so long).

Nice. A sub-sequence of pics from Suicidal above shows why the JetSims should be different from the MudSims (that, and infantry don't Whine about flight models)...

I assume the photos are taken in late day, with a cloud layer to the west and clear sky above the airfield.

Assuming all this is the same day, later near sunset, the cloud layer has moved closer to the airfield, and one can see clear sky beyond, on the other side of the cloud layer.

This is the best I could do over the StrikeFighters some time ago, purely experimental, and shows thin ice cirrus layers with thicker, lower altitude water stratus layers in the farther distance. The idea was to model an approaching continental winter warm front, moving across the map. Total size of the system is about 1000 kilometers.

These are some improvements that he made TORNO

For the sky with a new EnviromentSistem

also plenty of fog, foggy days you can not see your own hand when you put in front of you.
