+streakeagle 871 Posted October 28, 2009 I was entertained for years by the gathering of SFP1 haters at Die Sim Fanboi. Now it appears that Bard has shutdown his website and forum. While Stiglr is the favorite bad guy here at CombatAce, there was a whole cast of characters at Die Sim Fanboi that absolutely hated the Third Wire SFP1 series and the community that formed around it no matter how much the game and the mods for it improved. I don't fly anything less than SF2 now, and there is not even a plan to upgrade YAP to work with the Oct 2008 update. 2. I don't see my primary interest released yet, if ever: CVAN-65 USS Enterprise. Wait I have to give 05 some credit, he is smarter than Ranger332. Ranger332 was just a pure dumb ass. No they havent as far as I know. Diego isn't sweating it now though. Everyone knows that needs to know what the deal is. Diego and crew will get more into full swing when Crab_02 gets back from Iraq. I took alot of the YAP 1 stuff I bought and put it into SF2:V, worked just fine as far as ground objects go. I also used thier carriers to replace others in the campaigns. Works great. Crab and Diego and crew did a great job on the carriers. It nice to see the random stuff get used in a campaign. I been using eburgers mods and that is just great and its free. I got a CVAN-65 its an old model from here but its works fine. You want it, I put it into a campaign and it works just fine. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Ruggbutt 45 Posted October 29, 2009 I think I've been banned at DieSimFanboi half a dozen times. Bard hated if anyone posted contrary to what his beliefs were. He was irrational to say the least. Some of my fave stuff to do was to sign up on other forums as Bord and post my new sig pic: I also used to post pictures of "Bard" on other sites he'd show up on. He showed up at CWOS once and started in on me, not knowing that there are basically no forum rules there. Say what you want, do what you want. The regulars ran him off so fast that he broke an ankle logging off. Anyhow, here's a shot of Bard taken at a formal function As for ZeroCinco and his BS, the little I know about him impresses me not at all. You could tell me anything negative you want about him after I found out he refused to compensate people working on YAP as per their contractual agreement. I mean if a sim doesn't work like it should, people got something to gripe about. I mean who wants a sim that crashes all the time etc. No one. Then you got the "OMG the horse power of this aircraft is off by 10! and the angle of the nose is wrong because it doesn't have enough rivets." people and they just kill a sim. Our hobby is so subjective, I mean no 2 sources are alike. I can actually give a damn if a landing gear shock strut is the correct shape. As long as its close, who cares. I am dogfighting in this plane, or moving mud, the shape of landing gear door that is off by a few inches, isn't going to effect gameplay. You got people like Bard, Stiglr etc, who may mean well but have no clue how to present an idea without pissing people off in the process. Then they are the same people who when you counter their argument, always say you are wrong. There is no middle ground with them. I have always found it odd that the naysayers are such a tiny tiny tiny group and think that the 95% of people who like a sim, are just clueless. How does that work? Also they are the ones who have flew the sim for about 15 mins, or do not even own, said sim, yet have the biggest gripes about it. How does that work too? We all want a good sim to fly, but to go round and round and round over why my sim is better, is pointless. I used to like IL-2 series, but just can't seem to get into it anymore. There are some that just worship it, good for them, have fun. I knew guys who loved SDOE, I hated it. I never went to their boards and trolled them about it. To each his own. +streakeagle 871 Posted October 30, 2009 The old CVAN-65 was better than nothing, but after seeing the carriers in YAP2, it burns my eyes to look at it (especially the terrible textures). I want the CVAN-65 that I thought I was going to get with YAP 1. Given that the people that would were producing it are probably the same people that were screwed over by 05, I bet it doesn't show up in YAP 2 either.
