Ruggbutt 45 Posted April 17, 2010 I had a 1943 Springfield Armory. Not a reweld and it was bee-yootiful. The operating rod/gas tube housing that had the front sight was a bit loose so I did the old armorers trick using a mallet and drift to spread out the 3 parts that fit into the dovetail on the barrel. Tightened it right up, no wobble and it shot accurately. I also bought one of the "tanker" models and it also shot nice, no jams or misfires. Those babies were fun to shoot.
