Hello everyone!

I just managed to buy this nice and interesting sim but found meself quite confused by some features...

First. Like a lot the A-6, and carrier operation. Where the heck is the Landing lights better known as Meatball?

Second. Is the game actually keeping track of things I destroy? From a mission to the sequel, I mean?

Third. Has anyone actually tried WOV Air & Ground War Expansion Pack Gold ? Is it good as it seems from the description?

Fourth. Has anyone here tried Yankee Air Pirate? Is it good?

Thanks a lot!

1. A proper Meatball was never programmed in - afraid its a manual landing.

2. Assume you are talking about a WOV campaign like Rolling Thunder - if so check which dates you fly - if there is a significant time between missions then things will be repaired / replaced.

3. Create another install and try it - check which patch version it needs (latest is Oct 2008).

4. YAP2 is very good - each mission pretty much different - but suggest getting used to base game first - and getting YAP2 if you are into the Vietnam period. YAP needs to run on a 2006 version of WOV btw.

kom, A-6 is great cockpit. Is your view panning in the cockpit restricted? If so, you can fix it easy to see the entire right side of the cockpit. Its very detailed, and hidden from us, why I don't know.

Whoa! How you did that! Yeas my view is restricted too!

I suppose that happens to prevent us to see a missing bomber...

^_^ are we alone in the cockpit...

But then again, it's a lovely plane, ain't it?

That's Razbam's A-6E TRAM model....it's payware, and well worth the price of admission.

k, but there's got to be a way... some .ini file that modified enable the cockpit view.

I'll try that anyway! Thanks Fubar, thanks Lexx!

If you use the A-6 files that are provided in the WOV expansion pack and install properly, you should get a copilot next to you in the A-6 and a wider view.

At least it's in the SF2:V version of the expansion pack. I don't know if eburger took it out of the WoV version...

Probably viewlist.ini - this is the file to edit if you use a trackIR also.

Its in each airplane's Cockpit.ini file.

You have to extract the file, then edit it to change the Max and Min yaw look angles. Below is 150 degrees left and right (or right and left I forgot which is negative.

abstract example:

:

:

[CockpitSeat001]

ModelName=...

Offset=...

Position=...

ViewAngles=...

MaxYaw=150

MinYaw=-150

Sorry to pick up this thread again but I'm having issues with Shrike, this time.

(I only am using stock aircraft for WOV...)

The manual actually don't really say anything on how to use'em.

So I hope someone can answer this without being bothered too much! ^_^

1)I should just point my aircraft in the general direction of the radar?

2)Only when someone is firing at me? I have no RWR on the A6! How can I do?

3)Only after SAMs are flying?

4)Same thing with the STARM?

Thanks in advance!

The Shrike (AGM-45) and Arm are both "point in the general direction and shoot.

As long as there is a radar painting you (or others for that matter) it should home in by itself, as long as you are in range (closer the better).

What I tend to do is look for the smoke trails for the launching of SAMs and then fire with the pipper (sight) centered on the general area of the launch.

You do not need to have the radar targetted.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Andrew

Thanks a bunch Andrew!

I'm still having a little doubt now and then.

-The frag area of bombs is not really modeled, is it?

Do I get more points per mission if I:

- do not Alt-N to the next area of interest?

- do not speed up time?

- do land by myself?

- also turn off engine and/or taxi to the parking aprons?

What do I do to influence my rating? The manual is not really well written about this.

My rating always wiggle between 70% and 75% even though I ALWAYS complete a mission, and 60% of the times I land...

But I always destroy some opportunity targets! ^_^

Thanks in advance!
