Just had this idea:

many OFF pilots would probably like to have a personalised skin, but have no idea how to make one.

Now I thought, us hobby skinners could perhaps offer them this:

everyone, who wants a personalised skin, makes a request to us here.

This should not go as far as painting the whole craft differently.

No, we would keep a basic skin of the squadron/Jasta/Escadrille he wants to fly in; and add an emblem

of his choice, and maybe stripes or fuselage bands. The emblem has to be sent by the user, in Jpeg or

GIF form.

We could share the work in that way, that some make French planes, others British, and others German ones?

Or we may mix it all as well, and make an order list, saying who will be the next to do one.

What do you other "hobby-skinners" think of this?

I'd be willing to lend a hand with this, provided folks understand it make take a few days for me to get to a skin as I would have to do it when I have a spare moment. Anything for the cause. Well...within reason of course.

Of course, only adding an emblem, a capital letter, or coloured stripes - and only who has the time.

Allowance of a week must be made at least.

Okay, so far there are RAF_Louvert and I. Anyone else?

Welcome in the team, nbryant! Now we are three. Let's see, if anyone joins us 'till tomorrow.

Then we should start the whole thing.

Beanie - you will fly DiD again? That's great - I'm very lonely there, and so is Hasse Wind in FA(A) 250.

I had hoped you would join in. Which aircraft types would you like to do most?

Hi Olham

I’m not a skinner so I can’t help, but I think it’s a very good idea! :good:

Okay. let's start it then!

We now declare the Bazar open!

You can order some personalising for a skin/craft of your choice.

The rules should be:

- we wont paint new skins; we use the default squadron skins, and attach to them:

- emblems sent by the user in Jpeg form; and/or

- a capital letter; and/or

- stripes, fuselage bands or chevrons in the colour(s) the user wants

We need from you:

- the Squadron/Jasta/Escadrille you want it for

- a capital letter, or an emblem (Jpeg) you want to show

- your colour wishes for stripes or fuselage bands or chevrons

Please don't make too complicated wishes, everyone - we still want to do some own skinning and flying, okay?

Burning Beard, I'm glad you joined in - very welcome! Widowmaker, come on - give yerself a push.

The more we are, the less work it is for each single one.

But if you really have too much to do lately, I understand that.

Perhaps you join us later then?

Please guys - don't forget to credit base skins to OFF - thanks :salute:

Yes, that is why I chose to use the OFF squadrons' default basic skins for this, Sandbagger.

To put that right - we do not really make skins here. The skins are already provided by OFF / OBD.

We just offer to attach personal emblems or letters in order to give everyone who wants a more personal skin.

We offer this to those, who don't have own programs or not the hands for this.

The whole underlying skins were of course created by the skinners from OBD.

Thank you guys again for the immense fund of skins you made!

Nieuport 17, 60 Sqn in work. Only stripes on upper wing? Plain cowl?

Carrick, let me know if this is something like what you had in mind or if there are any other additions or changes. NOTE: Tail number is your OFF join date.

Carrick, here are pics of your new skins - an Albatros D.II and a D.V (uprated).

The skins are sent to you via PM. Hope you enjoy them.

All the best! Olham
