Right so you are trying to install WOV and WOE

WOV installs okay and you can start the game - but WOE will not install?? - how far do you get in the install process?

Assume by reprogram you mean you have reformatted and installed Windows XP on your PC again??

If so did you re install the required version of Direct X 9?

Hi mate, welcome to CA.

In order not to create a headache for the readers, could you please interpunctuate your

sentences and use capitals and so on? Will make reading easier and will help in

people taking effort to help you.

Where did you download the game, and what PC specs do you have?

Might help solve your problem!

In your main WOE directory find Startup.ini.......find these lines and make sure it says false in windowmode.

[Window]

WindowMode=FALSE

WindowPosX=0

WindowPosY=0

WindowWidth=1024

WindowHeight=768

Any hints or tips

Yes...

as stated above, do TRY using some punctuation. It will definately make trying to decipher what you're saying all the more easier for those trying to figure out how to help.

Use of proper terminolgy would be an assit as well; where "downloaded" is being used, perhaps for "install"??? It makes it a lot more confusing.

Defined:

downloaded: file brought from another source, usually the Web to a local hard drive

intalled: file, through an executable, run from another source, usually a CD/DVD to install said software to local hard drive.

see the confusiion? The more correct/accurate/detailed informaiton YOU give us, the more we can help.

just a helpful hint from the Staff

Make a copy of your startup ini. (right-click on the file and choose copy, you will have 'startup.ini' and 'copy of startup.ini' )

Open the original and then change the entries to match what I posted in my last post, then start the game and you should be in full screen mode.......if something still goes wrong (or gets worse) then you just need to remove the words 'copy of' and you will be back to where you started.

Based on the attached screenshot you need to adjust the screen resolutioin in WOE.

Go to Options, then select Display, then in the Display Resolution select your appropiate resolution option. After that exit WOE then restart the game, it will start with full screen without the black side strips, might look a bit streched though.

Some of the newer laptops do this thing. As you see my has the same thingy.

uhmm..ok that section is not visible in my attachment, but looked the same like yours
