BirdDogICT 3 Posted March 23, 2011 Hullo. Writing from out of the home, the wife just sent a text and claims she fixed it for me? Apparently one of the errors mentioned Patch DLL, and she disabled my Kaspersky anti-virus and says she was able to fly just fine. At which point I briefly panicked and begged her NOT TO KILL MY PILOT but she says she didn't. So... there you have it! I'll have a look when I get home. Believe me, I'm as surprised as can be! Not that this helps much after the fact, but I also had problems with Kaspersky and CFS3 in WinXP several years ago. Kaspersky would halt CFS3 in it's tracks until I designated it as a trusted application.. Oddly enough, I didn't have to designate CFS3 as a trusted application when I migrated to Win7 64bit. Due to different version of DirectX, maybe?

I'm digging through Kaspersky right now actually to see where I can set it not to pester CFS3 and OFF, so I dont' have to disable it each time I want to fly (not that it's hard to do so, just a button click). +Polovski 460 Posted March 23, 2011 Probably in "application control" or whatever Kaspersky calls it. Usually the part that stops one application modifying or loading another.
Javito1986 14 Posted March 23, 2011 Yep, found it! Can now run OFF with AV on. I love how easy the solution is, and how long it took me to find it :-p
Von Paulus 8 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) Kaspersky, sometimes, can be a pain in the ass. I love when the databases get corrupted, and suddenly its process takes 100% cpu usage. Well for me it's ok. Because it's the way I make money. Lost month I got 2 assistance calls, thanks to our dear friend. Olham 164 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) Don't know the English names in KASPERSKI; in German it is "Gefahren und Ausnahmen" (Dangers and Exceptions), where I can add programs, which shouldn't be checked. I added "OFF Manager Exe" and "CFS3 Exe" there. Also, you should activate the mode for games. In the KASPERSKI main window, click on "Settings" (top right), and in the tree you get at the left, it's the last one "profile for games". Click there, that KASPERSKI shall not investigate anything, shall not update or do other tasks. (This only, when you are not online, of course). Javito1986 14 Posted March 25, 2011 Just as a little 'epilogue' to this amusing tale, since getting OFF fixed a few days ago I have been playing the hell out of it. Maybe a bit too much, as was pointed out to me by the wife who was kind enough to remind me: "I fixed it, I can break it" Women
Olham 164 Posted March 25, 2011 Javito, may I ask, what exactly did you change in KASPERSKI? I am not sure, if I have done ALL the right things yet.
Parky 8 Posted March 25, 2011 Hmmmm, This just occurred to me... Next time your "Massive Member" fails, try a bit of Viagra! Cheers, Parky

Only just noticed this Olham, sorry for the late reply. I added OFF to my 'trusted applications' in Kas2011. Settings>Advanced Settings (upper tab)>Threats & Exclusions>Exclusions Settings>Trusted Applications tab. Buried pretty deep in there I know, but it's not as complicated as it sounds. Olham 164 Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) Okay, thank you, Javito - I had that done already.I have also added "CFS3 Exe", just in case. Edited March 29, 2011 by Olham
TaillyHo 2 Posted March 30, 2011 Hmmmm, This just occurred to me... Next time your "Massive Member" fails, try a bit of Viagra! Yeah, I thought that too, Parky. It's one thing to post on this forum and brag about your prowess as a pilot, but going on about your "massive member" is a bit much!
