Fubar512 Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Low mileage, cherry condition, for sale SOLD! Neat site, cool videos: http://www.prideaircraft.com/flanker.htm Quote
+ST0RM Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Interesting that it was sold so quickly. I've got a friend who works for BAe Systems in Mojave and he was telling us about this jet before it came over. The company was going to contract it out to the US Gov for special projects and some DACM. Looks like that fell through? Nice looking jet though! Quote
FastCargo Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I love this line: We fly them for sport because we can. Yea buddy! Quote

MAKO69 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) Who or what company purchased them, isn't there already a private airforce like an ATAC or ATSI that operates 1 of these and some older migs? Edited August 13, 2011 by MAKO69 Quote
+ST0RM Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Who or what company purchased them, isn't there already a private airforce like an ATAC or ATSI that operates 1 of these and some older migs? ATAC operates a mix of Hunters, Kfirs and Drakens out of Virginia. They do a ton of contract DACT for the USN, but appear all over the US flying for hire. ATSI was the largest non-military operator of the A-4 Skyhawk. They purchased several jets from the IDF and were a contract "Aggressor" force. They had a few crashes and I haven't heard much about them being hired by the military since. Boeing does use them as chase aircraft for the KC-767 program. Some of their A-4Ns are leased by BAe for target tug duties in Europe. Historic Flight Foundation out of Washington State already owns a MiG-29UB and several other EastBloc jets, so maybe it went to them? Quote
