Typhoon Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Good luck with the new job WM. My son retired after 20 years in the Canadian Navy and took a part time job as a security officer at the local airport. That was 4 yrs ago. He now runs a complete shift and is the training officer to boot. You never know how things will turn out. Tony Quote

tranquillo Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I've been away for a few days and just seen this thread, WM. Hope your first day went well without too many arrests I think it's brave of you, having been self-employed for a while. I've been self-employed for about 19 years and the thought of working for someone else gives me goosebumps. Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) Well, day one complete!..Jeez!...Full on or what?...training all this week....was taught all about Al Queda...was shown a huge long table of weapons that people have tried to take on board..some replica..some VERY real!...all day spent in the classroom. theultimat Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Congratulations on your first day, UK_Widowmaker! I bet it's satisfying to have that badge. Quote
Flyby PC Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 So you weren't wrapped up in duct tape and stuffed in the hold of a plane bound for Madacascar then? Sound excellent fun UKW. Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Yes Flypc....It was. Mainly classroom stuff today, and my main roll will be searching passengers and Bags...which is not what I want to do forever...but everyone has to start somewhere I guess.....though the smell of Aviation Kerosene, really makes me want to hang in there, and eventually get Airside Quote
Hauksbee Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Best of luck. This may be included in your training, but thought I'd include here it just in case. Romance Novel—2011 Edition... He grasped me firmly but gently just above my elbow & guided me into a room, his room. He quietly shut the door and we were alone. He approached me from behind, & spoke in a low, reassuring voice, "Just relax." Without warning he reached down; I felt his strong hands start at my ankles, moving upward along my calves slowly but steadily. My breath caught in my throat. I knew I should be afraid, but somehow I didn't care. His touch was so experienced, so sure. When his hands moved up onto my thighs, I gave a slight shudder. My pulse was pounding. I felt his knowing fingers caress my abdomen, my ribcage. And then, as he cupped my breasts, I inhaled sharply. Probing, searching, knowing what he wanted, he brought his hands to my shoulders, slid them down my tingling spine. Although I knew nothing about this man, I felt oddly trusting and expectant. This is a man, I thought, used to taking charge. A man not used to taking `no' for an answer. A man who would look into my soul and say ........... "Okay, ma'am, You can board your flight now." Well, you've sent it to the right man... Quote
Parky Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Indeed.......now we wait until he gets his badge that says "Access All Areas Of Any Passenger" Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Indeed.......now we wait until he gets his badge that says "Access All Areas Of Any Passenger" Do you think if I told them I was gay...they'd let me search the Female passengers? Quote

UK_Widowmaker Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Nope. But you might get transferred to cabin crew... I'm now sick of the sight of guns...if I catch anyone with a bloody gun...I'll shoot them myself! Quote
+Hasse Wind Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 If I may ask, did you have any previous experience from such security work? Or do they give you all the training you need at the airport? I'm curious, because I don't know much about airport security, in addition to what every passenger who has jumped through all the hoops in order to be able to board a plane knows. Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 No Hasse.I hadn't..this is all new to me Quote
