+ghostrider883 Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 (edited) A few days ago, I remember a screenie where the antenna(s) on the tail were removed from the stock F-4E model( teh tail was of TuAF F-4E IIRC). Is it possible to do the same on the stock MiG-21bis model? I ask this because the Indian MiG-21bis models lacks the antennas on the tail & under the nose. Will it be possible to remove those antennas in the stock MiG-21bis model using the same way as the TuAF F-4E mentioned above? +Spillone104 Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 If names are not changed during the process from SFP1 to SF2... Nose_Odd-Rods and Tail_Odd-Rods Quote
+ghostrider883 Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 Thanks for the reply Spillone. I tried looking for those in the data.ini, could not find them. Quote
+NeverEnough Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Use a hex editor to look for them in the LOD. Quote
+ghostrider883 Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 I never really figured out how to use the hex editor. Would really appreciate if someone could look it up using the hex editor, please?. Quote
+NeverEnough Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Hey Ghostrider, I've just reintroduced myself to the joys of using a hex editor to search through thousands of lines of code looking for mesh names while doing cockpit moves on the FE2 Albatros DV cockpit. Wow, a man could go blind doing it! The problem on using the MiG-21BIS LOD from SF2, is that TK made the cat file containing the game LOD's inaccessible after the May 2011 patch. If someone made copies of the ObjectData002 from their May 2011 version, then the MiG-21BIS LOD would be there to check for the mesh names. Quote
Blade Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 The mesh names, as Spillone104 said above, are Nose_Odd-Rods and Tail_Odd-Rods. Quote
Wrench Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 one of the reasons I keep the pre-May 2011 extracted cats on my HD. Before they were locked. the '(re)moves' statements would be something like: note: stock MiG-21bis data ini, AircraftData section //moves// Component[010]=Move1 Component[011]=Move2 [Move1] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=Nose_Odd-Rods_ok DestroyedNodeName=Nose_Odd-Rods DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE [Move2] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=Tail_Odd-Rods_ok DestroyedNodeName=Tail_Odd-Rods DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE post a screenie if it works, Sandesh! +ghostrider883 Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 Kevin, Thanks a million, got it work . Added those lines in the data.ini and the antennas on the fin & nose have now been removed. It now represents an accurate IAF Type 75 MiG-21bis Quote
+Soulfreak Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I just pick up this threat. How does it work now? Since we have no more access to the lods? Quote
Gunrunner Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 It still works, in your case your best bet is to use the Hunter LOD from SF1 WoI to find the node name and hope it's the same on SF2 Hunters, otherwise you'll have to ask TK. Quote
+Soulfreak Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 well then i have to reinstall my old woi... Quote
Gunrunner Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 or ask Wrench since he said he has an old install around, didn't compute before. Quote
+Soulfreak Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 i got a lod out of an out dated SF2I install, but thx... Quote
