Hello all,

Does anyone know if there is an SUU-16 gunpod anywhere?

I don't know about anyone else out there, but I am a realism freak, and a historical accuracy freak...but there's no SUU-16 gunpod out there that I can find.

Thanks.

There is a suu-16 gun pod in one of the weapons pack for generation1 series and they are all in the download section. I don't know which one exactly since i merged several weaponpacks together.

in the game by default I think that there is at least the SUU-23 pod for the F-4C, but the weaponpack06 for sure there is the SUU-16 and others...

Okay - thanks. I found and downloaded that. Now, does anyone know how to add a weapon onto an aircraft's arsenal?

I didn't want to install that weapons pack over my install, because I already have several mods and stuff and the Mirage Factory weapons pack, so I installed it into a temporary folder and took the SUU-16 out and put it into my install. However, it doesn't show up in any aircrafts choices of weapons. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Checked it, but it doesn't have any info on what I need.

Basically, I just want the F-4C to have the capability to carry the weapon.

check the C data ini --- it should already have the capabililty ie: the "GP" callout on at lease 3 stations

what EXACTLY are you not finding???

Okay: Here is EXACTLY what I have done.

Clean Install

Added Oct 2008 patch

Added MF Weapons Pack from 1-29-09

I then took another weapons pack from Jul 3, 06, and installed that into a temporary folder.

I took the SUU-16 files (there were two - a bitmap and lod file), and placed them into the Objects/Weapons folder.

I copied the SUU-16 entries from the Jul 3 06 WepPak WEAPONDATA.ini, and added it to my WOV WEAPONDATA.ini.

Then I did the Weapon Editor procedure.

I opened up WoV, and selected F-4C.

When I go to the loadout screen, the SUU-16 is not listed as an option.

There's my situation.

Thanks so much for all your help! You guys jump through hoops just to help a historical nut like me!

Can you now see the SUU-16 in the weapons editor list when you open it up?

If so can you check #23 on here which applies to SF1 http://combatace.com...e-by-migbuster/

Nation and service date are basics to check

Yes, I can see it in the weapons editor list. I checked the article that you linked. I don't know if the coding is a bit different in SF2, but mine in WOV didn't have a Diameter limit or Load limit.

Here is what was in my F-4C_DATA.ini

[CenterlineStation]

SystemType=WEAPON_STATION

StationID=5

StationGroupID=6

StationType=EXTERNAL

AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.37,-1.01

AttachmentAngles=0.0,-2.0,0.0

LoadLimit=2050

AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,LGB,NUC,GP,LP,IFP,DLP,MER,RCN

AttachmentType=NATO,USAF

ModelNodeName=pylon_centerline

PylonMass=32.21

PylonDragArea=0.02

LaunchRailNodeName=

MinExtentPosition=

MaxExtentPosition=

And, here is the SUU-16 entry in the Weapons Editor:

[WeaponData326]

TypeName=SUU16

FullName=SUU-16/A Gun Pod

ModelName=SUU-16

Mass=772.010010

EndYear=1975

ExportStartYear=1965

ExportEndYear=1975

Looks okay - can you try changing on the SUU-16:

StartYear=0

EndYear=0

Next check spelling and case - whats the LOD file called? needs to be referenced exactly

There are two files that sit freely in the weapons folder.

One is SUU-16.bmp and the other is SUU-16.LOD

looks okay

Did you change the years?

Try including it in the F-4C_loadout.ini on the correct pylon and load the game up.

comparing with another the only difference is your entry has SpecificStationCode= which you could take out - cant remember if that worked in SF1.

Make sure you are not flying in 1964 btw

[WeaponData030]

TypeName=SUU23

FullName=SUU-23/A Gun Pod

ModelName=suu-23

AttachmentType=NATO,USAF,USN

NationName=USAF

EndYear=0

No good.

The years are set at 0.

Tried attaching; came up as Empty.

I tried giving it it's own folder and copied the SUU23.ini and changed the name of hte LOD files inside to match the LOD files of the SUU-16. No good.

I tried moving those files outside of the folder, but that didn't work.

Oh well...

Does it show in the loadout of any of the other F-4s or any other jet for that matter in the time frame?

As a test set the SpecificStationCode=SUU16 on the pylon - then using the weapons editor give the suu-16 entry the same code

by the way you did click on the Save button in the editor didnt you to create a new weapondata.dat?

Yes, I do save the weapons editor every time...

When you say to "set the SpecificStationCode=SUU16 on the pylon" - do you mean in the F-4C's Loadout.ini on the center pylon? What exactly goes there - I tried SUU16, but that didn't work...? How do I give it the entry the same code?

Sorry if my questions are kinda duh principles...

don't use StationSPecificCode for the centerlline station; you'll really screw up the loadouts

Somebody is making things FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR more complicated than they should be. Let's fix that right now....

here's an SF2 version of the SUU-16 gunpod (attached)

what you'll do to down-convert to 1stGen is:

unzip, and drop the SUU-16 folder unto your /Weapons folder (yes, 08 level 1stGens can use a /Weapons folder WITH individual weapon sub-folders).

open the SUU-16_Data.ini.

Open the weapondata.ini with note pad (make sure to extract a fresh one, if you've not added any other new weapons, otherwise just use the one you've been using. after deleting any other SUU-16 entries)

copy/paste the statements from the SUU-16_data.ini at the END of the weaponsdata.ini

Adjust the WeaponData001 number reading to match the next in sequence in the weaponsdata.ini

Save and Close

Open the weapons editor, and follow the usual procedure for adding weapons.

DO NOTHING TO THE DATA INI OF THE PHANTOM THAT THIS POD IS TO BE USED UPON!!!!

If wanting to make this the 'standard' loadout, edit the loadout ini for Station5 ie:

(this is the base A-A loadout)

Loadout[05].WeaponType=SUU-16

Loadout[05].Quantity=1

Loadout[06].WeaponType=AIM-7E-2

Loadout[06].Quantity=1

Loadout[07].WeaponType=AIM-7E-2

Loadout[07].Quantity=1

Loadout[08].WeaponType=AIM-7E-2

Loadout[08].Quantity=1

Loadout[09].WeaponType=AIM-7E-2

Loadout[09].Quantity=1

Loadout[10].WeaponType=AIM-9E-2

Loadout[10].Quantity=1

Loadout[11].WeaponType=AIM-9E-2

Loadout[11].Quantity=1

Loadout[12].WeaponType=AIM-9E-2

Loadout[12].Quantity=1

Loadout[13].WeaponType=AIM-9E-2

Loadout[13].Quantity=1

Loadout[14].WeaponType=Tank370_F4

Loadout[14].Quantity=1

Loadout[15].WeaponType=Tank370_F4

Loadout[15].Quantity=1

do that for any other loadouts you want to carry the SUU-16. Save and close

fly and kill MiGs

Personally, I'd just go with the stock, alread in-game SUU-23. It requires no jibber-jabbering to get it to work

Well, it still doesn't like it....

I suppose I'll just have to stick with the SUU-23.

Its okay - I'm just a historical nut. I'll get over it.

Thanks for everyone's help!

how about this way:

open weapondata with the weapon editor

make a copy of the stock SUU-23 pod

rename it to SUU-16 ( weapon type and full name )

change the lod to the SUU-16 lod you want to use

adjust service years if required

save

now the SUU-16 should be available.. 99.9 % .. I hope ... :ninja:
