navychief 1 Posted November 19, 2004 Thanks to a fellow shipmate on Bio, I am back online again, and able to visit my favorite site (Biohazard Central, of course!). I won't divulge my friend's name. If he wants to post a message about it, then fine! But suffice it say, I am forever grateful for the modem, and access to email again. For now, I am on dialup, so online flying won't be happening. But just to be able to visit Bio, and receive email again, is a Godsend. I've missed you all! DA Navy Chief is BACK! NC

navychief 1 Posted December 9, 2004 Hey Nick, Thanks for the "welcome back" message! Enjoyed the pictures. I look forward to flying them. Hopefully, by the end of next week, I will have my new Gaming PC. I spent more than I ever have on a computer. Too bad I don't have DSL. Online flying just won't work too well. I plan to start hounding the closest cable company to run a line to my house. Maybe they'll do so, just to shut me up! You know how persistent Navy Chief's can be! HA! MadJeff 3 Posted December 9, 2004 Hopefully, by the end of next week, I will have my new Gaming PC. I spent more than I ever have on a computer. Chief, looks like we are both playing the waiting game. I just ordered a new work laptop, so I figured I would go whole-hog: Sager 9860 Specs http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/noteboo...roductType=9860 Read the review: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=49132 I picked up a Sager 9860, and this thing is a monster! 12 lbs of 17" Widescreen portable gaming goodness. It's the same chassis as the Alienware Ultimate rig. I'm supposed to get this tomorrow, and I'm really jazzed. Here's the specs I ordered: 3.6Ghz P4 2Gb DDR2 RAM 2 - 60Gb SATA drives in a RAID 0 (Striped) config nVidia 6800 Go PCI-Express DL DVD Burner Built-in Wireless/BlueTooth I'll be doing a review on this baby once I get it here. BUFF 8 Posted December 9, 2004 Looks like a nice system Chief. Looks like you did a lot more research than I did for ya ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> MJ, a 12lb laptop? That's not portable - that's your home exercise weights.
MadJeff 3 Posted December 10, 2004 MJ, a 12lb laptop? That's not portable - that's your home exercise weights. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, they go out of their way to call it a DTR (DeskTop Replacement). From this point on I'll be referring to it as simple "The Beast"... ;) I was hoping to get it today, but it looks like it will be tomorrow morning. At least I'll get it for the weekend. Can't wait to install LOMAC on it, should run it full settings.
