Padre Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) I get this:(See the Picture)(other than getting shot down...it's the effect I'm refering to...) but I don't get this... ------------------------------------------------------------- Materials that have BlendOp=BLEND_SRC_ALPHA EffectShaderName=effectLightLevel.fx (aka Volumetric emitters like smoke, groundmist, dust). Materials that have BlendOp=BLEND_INV_SRC_ALPHA_ADD_SRC EffectShaderName=twColor1.fx (aka fire, explosion, light, flash, flare, streaks) ------------------------------------------------------------ can someone hep me out? Thx in Advance. Edited January 16, 2012 by Padre Quote
Kodiak Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 You probably have the wrong *.TGA files for those effects. If you have more effect packs try the other efects their *.TGA files and see what that gives. My best regards, Kodiak. Quote
+Stary Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 yes, wrong or missing particle .tga file what pack is it? Quote
Padre Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) okay, I thought at first this was going to be fixed in the update for the "SF2_Reloaded_mod1.12". But, it didn't work. Although I'm generally impressed with the whole of the collected SF2 Reloaded Mod 1.2, there seems to be this one file thats giving me trouble. I'm still unable to nail down the specific file(s) I need to correct. I'm running a moded SF2 install. Here's the readme regarding effects from "SF2_Reloaded_Mod1.12" -------------------------------------------------------- "+++ Effects +++ - Unified Effects Pack 1.1 by Stary - Ground Effects Collection by SF - High res Waternormal.bmp by Paladrian (a.k.a. Mago) -------------------------------------------------------- Here's a screen I've taken today... Edited January 28, 2012 by Padre Quote
ErcVitez Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 You are using another mod(s) as I see, so maybe there is some conflict... Try to download and install Stary's mods: - Unified Effects pack 1.0 http://combatace.com/files/file/11802-unified-effects-pack-10/ - Unified Effects Pack update 1.1 http://combatace.com/files/file/11985-unified-effects-pack-update-1/ I hope this helps. Mondhatnám magyarul is de nem hiszem, hogy megértenéd, ezért próbáltam meg angolul leírni amennyire tudtam, hogy Te is értsd! Értékelhetnéd! ;) Érc Quote

No, it's just to say that it's a technial referance that I don't understand. I think, if I did, it might help. I've reloaded Stary's 1.0 and update 1.11. from scratch. no effect. So, what other packs have I loaded, I don't think any. but then again, there's been so much modding with this SF2 install. The blocks appear right after an AC explodes with either guns or missles. and only on AC, not other targets. is there an INI that can tell me which tga files to look at? Thanks to everyone. Quote
logan4 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) is there an INI that can tell me which tga files to look at? Well its a shot in the dark, but you can try to look at the followings and see that you have all the .tga files listed in them, each should be in your Effect folder in your mods directory. AircraftEngineFireEffect.ini AircraftExplosionEffect.ini AIRCRAFTFIREEFFECT.INI Other than that can be also driver issue as EricJ suggested. Edited January 30, 2012 by logan4 Quote
Padre Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Thanks logan, I'll take a look. I have recently updated my drivers. I removed the effects updates and everything works well with the default. I'd rather re-enable the effects and figure out which tga is the culpret. Quote

Sorry then I misunderstood you. Did you try deleting your whole mod directory and building from the scratch? 1) delete your mod dir 2) run the game then exit 3) install the mod(s) (some mods are interfere each others be careful) Sorry pal, I am not a real modder only an amateur. :/ And my english is crap I know but I am trying. :D Érc Edited January 31, 2012 by ErcVitez Quote
logan4 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Happy to help, even if it is limited. An advice before you go too deep. Always keep a back-up effect folder that you know works. Also if an .ini file ask for overwrite sometimes good to rename the targetfile if you forgot to make a back up, that way you can revert quickly to your likeing. Good hunting! logan4 Quote

Good hunting! logan4 Erik, logan, All good ideas. No problem Erik, I understand completely. Right now I'm at the default Effects. I'll let you know what happens. Does Stary's effects require another of the SF versions? I'm running the Basic SF2 with no expansions or merges. Quote
ErcVitez Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Did you patch the SF2 for latest level? 2011 november. http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads.htm Quote
